Amazing, it's nice to see a story with a happy ending!

It's also unbelievable that this guy had them hidden in his house for so long... he even wrote a neighborhood newspaper article trying to raise awareness about their disappearances (I guess as part of an elaborate alibi).

 

Even more amazing is you making a thread about a happy ending.

 

Piers Morgan just reported that it was actually the guy's identically named son who wrote the article for a college class.

I'm sure lots of horrible details will emerge of their life in a dungeon and their pregnancies etc, Juliet and Ghost can pore over that info as per usual. Lee might even suggest some torture for the kidnappers.

 

And I have little doubt that if their corpses had turned up in the basement, Juliet would have been all over it.

 

She posted in the thread some 10 minutes after Ghost posted it, I can taste the disappointment in her reply "Amazing" that she was beaten to punch.

I'm not sure what to say honestly about this. More shocked than anything. There is always some strange people somewhere...

Glad the women are out of it, but the guys have to get at least 100 years per each girl.

 

This. Sure it is ultimately good news that these young women are free and can move on with their lives, but I'm sure horrific details of their years in captivity will begin to surface; and Juliet and Ghost will analyze them for weeks or until the next tragic news story appears. Throw in a conspiracy theory, for good measure.

Some possible food for thought.

 

In actual news, apparently one of the neighbors had reported suspicious activity to the police several years ago. And by suspicious activity, I mean a naked woman on a chain being led around the backyard on her hands and knees. Some fine police work there.

 

Interesting, but it seems tenuous at best. The author has to essentially concede that this happens to every weird-soundbite flavor-of-the-moment news interview, regardless of color, and I don't think the argument ever really manages to recover from that. White guy Kai says something funny as part of a weird news story, he gets fifteen minutes of internet fame. Black guy Charles Ramsey says something funny as part of a weird news story, he gets fifteen minutes of internet fame. But the second time has to be different, because racism? I think it's a stretch. If the causes and motivations that impelled Kai to become internet-famous are sufficient to explain his case, why are they insufficient to explain Charles Ramsey's case?

On a lighter note, apparently McDonald's wants Charles Ramsey as their new spokesperson as apparently he tweeted out he was having something from there just before he helped Amanda Berry escape.

 

His 911 call is gold. It also gives his full phone number. Perhaps a JC round table discussion with him is in order.

 

There's also confirmation that the young girl (6 years old) is Berry's daughter, the father is most likely one of the three suspects.
