Bond and I'm basing this on longevity and quality. There have been two great Bourne movies, one that was halfway decent, and the last one was pretty hilarious for all the wrong reasons (where my chems?! WHERE MY CHEMS). Also, Bond is suave while Bourne is brooding.

I'd prefer Brosnan over Moore personally.

It's pretty sad that people here seem completely ignorant of the novels that were the source material for both characters, and are judging solely based on their film counterparts.

Or you can go with DK Bond from the Goldeneye N64 game.

I've read one book from each series, and I didn't think either of them were particularly good.

Why is that sad? Everything I have seen suggests that both series tended towards the mediocre at best. Being acquainted with potboiler fiction is not exactly a badge of pride, whether literary or filmic.

I am having trouble with this because Bourne is the result of a brainwashing program that makes one into a combat monster. But I could make the arument that Bourne is a just a fit fellow who is able to boost himself to Bond levels for short periods of time.

I've only read one novel from the two series (Bourne). However, it's my overall impression that both franchises are limited by the fundamental stupidity of their subject matter. That said, I think the results here are reflective of the documented decline in reading (for both pleasure and study), which is certainly sad. It is a unique medium that allows things other forms of story-telling do not as easily. For instance, in this acse, making a story about an amnesiac recovering his identity actually center on that for a significant portion of the plot, instead of taking five minutes to establish he doesn't know who he is before turning into a super spy/assassin showdown.

    Bond, James Bond

He's one tough son of a gun.
If he doesn't beat you to death he'll shoot you with deadly accuracy. If that fails, he has a gadget that will do it :p

Okay, Wocky, just for you maybe the next round should be Nancy Drew vs. The Hardy Boys (I know where my vote is going).

Joe and Frank wouldn't take any **** from Nancy. They already have a useless sidekick in Chet.

I think you have it the other way around. Nancy would pwn the Boys the first chance she got.

Nancy Drew for the first matchup, duh.

I...have no clue about the second matchup, except the guy in the second art cover looks like Jake Gyllenhall.

There are two Hardy Boys, so the numerical advantage is clearly in their court. For the second vote, Bloom, because at least the novel he appeared in was finished.
