    Well...

Can't speak for everyone else, but apart from its massive presence in the SW Saga (five out of six films), I love Tatooine as a SW planet because for the most part it's really there, in North Africa, including a lot of the actual buildings featured in the films.
The use of existing environments and locations reflects GL's New Hollywood sensibility (THX-1138 was shot in car parks, highway tunnels etc), and it's the rough-and-ready style of SW/ANH which makes it my favourite of the six, and, I believe, contributed to it being such a massive success, while other 1970s sci-fi films with cheesy sets that would barely pass muster in television - Logan's Run, Silent Running etc - flopped.

SW/ANH had some fantastic sets for locations like the Death Star, the Falcon's interior - but when it came to setting foot on a planet, the choice of locations was perfect, and with Tatooine being so prominent (as opposed to Yavin IV), it's brilliant that they found somewhere that could be used so effectively with very little alteration to the existing environment.

Hoth, Yavin, Endor, Naboo - yes, they were all shot on real locations, but they weren't utilised to the same extent with real existing buildings and structures sitting so comfortably in the GFFA. Yavin featured a brief couple of shots of Aztec (I think) temples, and Naboo doesn't strike me as 'otherworldly' at all. Beautiful, yes - a setting in another galaxy, no.

Incidentally, regarding the poll - yes, it's a crime that Tatooine isn't included, and Corellia doesn't feature in the SW Saga at all.:p

Tatooine. I just love the vibe it has. The gangster/wild west feel is great. It's not a place I'd like to live, but it's certainly the most interesting place to me.

There are antecedents for Felucia. One would be the alien homeworld of "Xen" featured in the very popular PC game "Half Life" (released in 1998).

The beginnings of psycho-hallucinogenic digital art landscaping.

Felucia was also accomplished, in part, by a miniature. This would probably have been scanned into a computer and digitally manipulated -- like a lot of ROTS' miniatures -- using a piece of software called, of all things, "Zenviro". These details can be found on pages 180-182 of J.W. Rinzler's "The Making Of Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith".

Felucia was originally conceived -- per George Lucas' list sent to the art department on October 25th 2002 (again, see p.29, ibid) -- as a "seaweed/coral" world, interestingly enough, later shifting to the fungal design in the finished film. So, the idea, it seems, was always to go for something organic and on the fringes of our mammalian-brain comprehension. And yes, based not only on its look, but the way it is incorporated into a breathtaking montage that effortlessly transitions us from one unusual locale to the next, the dreamscape of Felucia is part-heavenly-visage, part-Lynchian-nightmare: a mixed-signal outer-body experience that appropriately follows Anakin's knighting as Darth Vader.

I recall the Naboo swamps being portrayed as very fungal in the Jedi Power Battles game. Huge fungi jutting out of tree-trunks for the player to jump between.

BTW Darth Vader, the Endor we see in ROTJ is a moon. There is an Endor planet but it is a gas giant.

Tatooine has the feel of the frontier West town, which I love. Al Swearengen wouldn't be out of place there. Bespin always fascinated me conceptually, so it's runner up.

    Gotta go with Coruscant.
It's the center of the galaxy, I'm sure I'd never be bored there. You can basically find anything there, I'm pretty sure. All kinds of beings and ships, cultural buildings rich with galactic history and records, restaurants of probably every known civilization in the GFFA, booze of all kinds, a billion different places to go and have some all kinds of crazy fun.
    Coruscant all the way.

Sick to death of Tatooine, though.

Though I picked Coruscant I would love to explore Tatooine via circumnavigation with perhaps a sail barge like Jabba's. Though roughing it via bantha could be interesting.
