I've been reading through Tales from the New Republic and I really enjoyed Kathy Burdette's Gathering Shadows. I'd love to read a full-length SW novel by her.

What new authors would you like to see write Star Wars novels? Either someone who's worked on SW before, but has not written a full-length novel, or a non-Star Wars author who would be reasonably likely to write one.

I actually would be interested to see Michael Kirkbride (one of the primary minds behind Morrowind) do a take on the GFFA. And throw a novel contract at Chris Avellone just to get him writing Star Wars material again.

It's funny, I was thinking earlier how Tuf Voyaging and Dying of the Light remind me of the Lando trilogy and Shatterpoint, respectively.

Adam Troy Castro. Dude gets both science fiction and the wonderful mix of camp and drama that are the Marvel superheroes, with a very sophisticated style, so I expect he'd do great with Star Wars. We need to get him before Star Trek does.

Someone else already made this joke, but:
A Song of Revan, a 700-page long novelization of KOTOR with chapters from the pow:s of the companions, written by George R. R. Martin

    A sample:

    JOLEE

It never rained in space. That was one thing Jolee Bindo remembered about it, and was happy to find out that he remembered right. The Jedi with non-descriptive features had brought him on this ship after they had meddled with a Wookiee tribe. To show his gratitude, the chieftain of the tribe had given them a grand meal of meats of Anakkona and Wyyyschokk filled with the innards of Kinrath, fried Can-cell wings, Katarn pie for a dessert with a bowl of Gorryl slug jelly and home-brewed Tarisian ale and blue milk from Kashyyyk Banthas to drink.
