Plus, statistically speaking, somebody has a better chance on average of being hit by a car, than being killed in an your average thunderstorm. Or even in a severe one for that matter.

So does that mean we need to rename the Pistons and Pacers too?

if we're going to rename teams we should start with the teams who moved and kept names that are now completely regionally inappropriate. i'm looking at you lakers and grizzlies, and especially you utah jazz.

There are lakes here in Los Angeles, just not many of them... but, since there are more than 1, then the name is technically correct. Ha!

    :p

i think the name works because it's a cool sounding alliteration, but don't pretend like l.a. is known for its lakes. :p

speaking as someone who lives in TN, there aren't really grizzlies here... maybe the one or two random ones, but black and brown bears are far, far more common. grizzlies come down the rockies, which is pretty far away.

and frankly, i think the thought of renaming teams just because they're named after something like a hurricane is just silly. what's a team name supposed to do, at least partially? help strike fear into opponents. show a form of dominance. well, hurricanes or thunder do that pretty damn well. the PCness of thinking that team names need to be changed just because it "might hurt someones feelings" is just stupid. people who are that weak need to get some help.

I'm pretty sure they chose Thunder for the rumbling railroad trains, not the weather.

Guys, the solution is renaming NBA franchises according to dinosaurs. Because they are awesome, yet extinct so they pose no threat. And the Raptors suck so they don't get to be the raptors anymore. Toronto Gal...uh uh...Galli-uh...Gallimimus!

Yeah. But they are as common as the Bears the roam Chicago and the Lions the prowl in the urban jungle of Detroit. :p

It would be really awesome if every game in this Heat-Pacers series is as tight as the first two have been.

Pacers should be up 2-0, not tied 1-1.

Just like how the Warriors should have been up 2-0 on the Spurs too. Makes for some exciting playoffs, though.
