The head of Disney will make the extinction of the Ewoks canon?

Believing someone would post that Iger-thing seriously?

EDIT: (I realize you were probably not serious either, I just really wanted to use the Godzilla picture)

No. That's just a dismissal of an EU story by Hidalgo. ROTJ ended with the destruction of the second Death Star over the forrest moon of Endor. The films have not addressed what happened after that event. Any EU nonsense written after the fact doesn't count.

    Uh-huh...
How is "dismissal of an EU story" any different from making something non-canon? I mean, since we're discussing a fictional universe and all.

Duh. Because radically speculative things that might have happened as a result of a fantasy film are clearly more relevant than things that were later published as stories in books and comics based on said fictional fantasy films. And you call yourself a fan. :p

Just to clarify I was joking about Jar Jar being LaLaLa however I have come to the conclusion that Ewoks are Yeah... No.

MODified: I have altered the post. Pray I don't alter it any further.

Ewoks? Surely you kid. I assume these are all jokes in this thread (I hope so).[face_praying]

If you want Ewoks, you have absolutely no place to complain about "lack of realism with CGI," JJ Binks, or any of the PT's purported campiness or flaws. The Ewoks were absolutely the silliest and least realistic thing in a SW movie to date. It's not just that they put in little furry, childlike, silly creatures; they look SO much like a kid in a cheap Halloween costume. They don't even begin to look real. If they were going to make something silly, at least make it look somewhat real. JJ Binks looked WAY more real than those. It is a REALLY good thing that everything else about ROTJ was so great.

Do us a HUGE favor and leave out the teddy bears; it can and should appeal to all ages, but let's make a Sci-Fi/fantasy movie that adults can enjoy. No teddy bears.

Some of as adults can still enjoy Return of the Jedi. Even with the "Teddy Bears" it's far more enjoyable then even the RotS, in which Jar Jar only has a few lines.

Thank you for sharing your opinion about which movie you think is more enjoyable, but that is astray of the point I was making. I was making a larger point about standards for characters in Episode 7 (namely doing a better job on them than merely having teddy bears).

I think the villain should have an Ewokskin rug or two. Does that count? :)

They probably won't pop up but I wouldn't mind a cameo.

The problem with ewoks is how prominent they were in Return. Jawas are cute and adorable but they don't eat up screen time, they pop up, do their bit and then move along.

If Lucas hadn't put such big focus on them in Episode 6, people probably wouldn't be as annoyed by them.

I would be fine with Ewoks as very minor characters, but I would rather not have them play a key role in the new films.

id be happy for Ewoks to be involved in minor roles but not centrally. Their heroism should be referenced. Id like them included just to really upset the haters of them

Hoping the events on Endor are covered up.

If word gets out that cutting edge galactic military training and technology can be overthrown by small teddy bears with sticks and rocks, it would be a major morale breaker. Every primitive cave man in the galaxy would be aiming to take down the Republic.
