Nobody cares what makes you happy, secondly it is howard freakin stern he knew he would get blasted by the old has been hag for saying he likes the prequels on his radio show. Funny how some people will never admit that the media always tries their best to perpetuate the misconception that the majority of Star Wars fans dislike the prequels when that is not true, when the people who disliked them were the minority. Spreading lies and misconceptions are what idiot media types like Howard Stern do best!

Despite his often inflamatory style he keeps it real.

Does not take away from my joy.
Considering how serious the show was i doubt they would stayed on topic.
You got some scientific data? What is in it for the media?

The media is on the payroll of whoever payed Bin Laden to attack the World Trade Center! They're afraid that the prequels will clue people in to the truth! (Palpatine's conspiracy).

Has JJ said anything about his opinion of the PT that is worth talking about since January?

If he has, I've missed it.

Not to mention the hundreds of fans outside of the US who loved the films and the general public who liked it, if not at least enjoyed it.

And what would that oligarchy gain by going after the prequels?

    Hundreds of fans.

Star Wars must have made absolutely no money outside the US.

I seriously doubt that any major part of the overseas audiences sees Star Wars movies as much more than CGI action flicks. They have their own cultural touchstones and iconic movies to talk about endlessly.

Star Wars is a worldwide phenomenon. I'm not from the US and it's huge here. It's clearly viewed as an iconic series all around the world. To suggest Star Wars' iconic status is solely in America is pretty ridiculous.

I didn't mean hundreds in the literal form. If you want a number, it's somewhere in the millions.

I was half joking. But negativity sells.

People love a good narrative where someone is built up to high heights than brought crashing down. And the prequel trilogy itself obviously exploits this strange fascination.

But the media loving or hating the prequel trilogy -- or building a narrative in which other people are encouraged to believe one thing over another -- is really small potatoes compared to the real problems with the "parasitic conglomerated Leviathan controlled by an oligarchy of suit-and-tie-wearing charlatans" that is the media.

There's a graphic circling at the moment that pretty concisely demonstrates the fatuity and gross malignancy of the media.

    Here is the breakdown.

    What you should know about:

    - Why bats are dying by the millions
    - Why bees are dying by the billions
    - Why bird populations are plunging
    - Ocean acidification
    - The melting ice caps
    - Deforestation
    - Dangers of natural gas fracking
    - Tar sands pollution and its dangers
    - Mountaintop removal
    - GMOs, Monsanto, and the problems caused by toxic farming practices
    - Potential food shortages because of drought, soil depletion, and the plunge in wildlife populations
    - Polluted and depleted aquifiers
    - How to grow food
    - Hazards of industrial pollution
    - Lies your government is feeding you
    - Lies the financial system is spewing
    - Lies about the tax system
    - How your rights are being violated
    - Damaged, clunky, aging nuclear power plants and their dangers
    - The realities of war
    - Depleted uranium bomb residue from the ongoing wars and how it is spreading via weather patterns
    - Growth of the prison industry
    - Lies about the War on Drugs
    - How to disconnect from fossil fuels
    - Permaculture and sustainable living
    - Importance of organic foods

What the news tells you about:

    - Who got murdered
    - Lindsay Lohan
    - Who said what that doesn't matter
    - Kanye West and Kim Kardashian
    - Car chases
    - Justin Bieber
    - Who is getting divorced
    - The First Lady's workout routine
    - Sex scandals
    - The stock report
    - Who is gay
    - How many cars are selling
    - Who got arrested
    - Drama in D.C.
    - The housing market
    - Sports drama
    - Misinformation about history
    - Who got an award
    - Courtroom scandals
    - Gas prices
    - "Reality" show drama
    - What's being built
    - Whatever subtly perpetuates fear
    - Travel and leisure stuff
    - Who bought something expensive
    - What haircut to get
    - A little about racism and sexism
    - Corporate products to buy
    - Who had a baby
    - Where to eat
    - What colour to wear
    - Whatever will keep you tuned in

I get your point that the media doesn't talk about the stuff that is important, and isn't exactly reporting that much on climate change, but I think we should stay on topic.

We should "stay on topic", but the truth hurts, doesn't it?

Eventually, it will start hurting everyone... much more than it already does.

Staying on topic is one way to pretend that greater levels of pain and complication aren't already on their way; if we continue to stay on topic, that is.

But you're right. We should probably stay on topic.

Abrams is a guest on Stern's show and friendly with him. If Abrams loved the PT, he wouldn't have yelled it to the high-heavens in Stern's face because it would change the tone of the interview and be aggressive towards a guy he's been on his show before. He was just trying to roll with Stern's interview style, which is jump out with small comments and then Howard gear-shifts into another topic after about 2 minutes.

I haven't followed this, so I'm just guessing, but I'd be surprised if Abrams has much to say about the PT one way or the other in the lead in to the ST. Rightly or wrongly, the PT generated some very strong reactions, and Abrams doesn't want that prejudicing his efforts on the ST. If he's wise, he'll keep it zipped and just let his own film do the talking.

The Prequels are good movies. Deal with it. Don't like them don't watch them, but it should not bother you if others do like them. You call yourself a Star Wars fan - we need a facepalm smiley.
