    And GoldenEye.

While I do like some of his storytelling, I'm not much of a fan of Abrams' style as a director. MI3 will always be one giant eye sore and headache imo.

The ability to keep a tight lip is insignificant next to the sheer willpower of Star Wars fans hungry for spoilers.

Scriptreader for Matthew Broderick in the late 90s? So he put his stamp of approval on Godzilla? [face_plain]

That was in 1996, so let's hope that was before his time. (and maybe the reason he was hired)

    Close. It was 1998. :p

I have no worries. TS3 was a masterpiece.

Michael Arndt's going to be brilliant. I have zero worries about the script. I'm still waiting for this guy to come up from whatever hole Disney has put him in and hear an interview from him. Maybe we'll finally hear from him at Comic Con or Celebration Europe.

Another cool little segment. Kudos to Arndt for the Star Wars reference.

I agree, I'm actually quite surprised there has been no interviews with him or coverage of the writing process. If you go to IMDB and check out the newsdesk section for all recent blockbusters around two years prior to their release, you will see far more information than what we've gotten for Ep7 during the same time frame. :(

If it wasn't for a very few youtube clips I would think he was imaginary. :)

It's like he's vanished from the face of the earth. Has he even been seen in public since he was announced as the writer? I wouldn't be surprised if he looks like Grizzly Adams once he finally resurfaces. :p

I just hope he hasn't been eaten by the Sarlacc. He'll be slowly digested for a thousand years and will never get that script done.

Do we ever really get interviews with writers? They are typically a behind the scenes type group.

I also can't imagine Disney or Lucasfilm is thrilled about him talking to anyone about Star Wars.

I don't care what Disney wants I want to hear from the guy who literally has all the secrets. Then I can form crazy theories based on a few words he said that probably had nothing to do with SW anyway. You know like always. :p

An excellent read. With Arndt and JJ, we are in very good hands.

[face_laugh] Carrie Fisher is hilarious. It's so great to see the Big 3 having fun with SW and all the speculation out there.

He's most likely contractually obligated to say nothing to the media about anything he's doing relating to Star Wars.

The reason for Ardnt's public absence is obvious, he has clearly been kidnapped by fans and is now being interrogated for information about the plot.

I think we should all get used to the idea that Disney simply may not be as forthcoming with info as was Lucasfilm.

If they are a good creative company, Which they are, they are protecting Arndt. Let's say you got your interview. What if he talks about an idea that doesn't make it into the final film? Can you imagine the fan reaction? Additionally, maybe Disney sees him as a guy who should get credit for the entire script, even if ideas were born on-set.

I haven't read through all the previous posts in this thread, so I'm sorry if this has question has already been asked and answered (I tried to search the thread first), but do we know for sure if Arndt has stated whether he was a (more than casual) SW fan prior to being selected for Ep VII? I saw the reference to his giving presentations analyzing the success of the OT, but I wasn't sure if we know much else about whether he might have a pre-existing personal affection for SW. In addition to his certainly notable screenwriting achievements so far, I think it's important that all the major players involved in Ep VII feel a definite connection to the franchise.

Thanks in advance if anyone knows the answer or can direct me to a relevant link!
