Lit Thoughts on this Politics of the Empire essay I found?

    Very well researched and written. His other fanfics are awesome as well, especially "The Life and Times of a Rounding Error." The essays are probably somewhat out of date, though, with all the new information that has come along in the past few years.

    That's not a single essay, but a compilation that somebody must've put together of Publius's work that was originally hosted on his own website. The link to that (and his other articles) are here: http://web.archive.org/web/20120204063509/http://www.domuspublica.net/analysis.html . His oeuvre constituted and still constitutes the best analyses out there about the institutions, personae, and history of the Empire.

    His latest work -- a few years old now -- is "The New Order in Power," parts of which he had released at SD.N once upon a time. It is essentially an in-universe monograph about the Galactic Empire, but while essentially fictional, it contains footnotes and the like to support many of the author's inventions.

    Anyway, the reliability of his work is very high. I particularly recommend "Sic Transit Gloria" for an idea of how I chart the legitimacy of the various Imperial successor states and the like.
