Considering what my parents are shelling out every year for insurance, free sounds very nice.

I know someone who was born in the states, doesn't have free health care here. You need to enroll for a health card in order to receive free health care and like Bardan said, it's not free since you pay in your taxes.

By the time I work it out, I still don't owe the government anything so technically it's free for me

 

Cost with taxes is still lower than what you pay for insurance.

Not for me, but my wife and I pay a lot in taxes.

 

Then we pay taxes and insurance costs.

Costs that would buy us a new car every year.
