I REALLY hope that EU IG-88 and the Empire's squashing of the Coruscant celebration are both utterly destroyed.

They should also feel free to overwrite the Sith species.

 

If the sequel trilogy's bothering to go 4,000 years ago to when the Sith species was even relevant they're wasting their time.

That's what they'd have to do, though. The Sith species stopped being relevant to Star Wars in general about 4,000 years before Yavin. It's pointless to reference anything about them, as they're all dead now.

 

I get it. I didn't say that there was any chance of the Sith species being overwritten in the ST.

 

Okay. Let's try and keep the discussion to something remotely relevant, as opposed to events in books from twenty years ago that you happen to not like, okay?

 

What do we want to see from the eu, in the new movies?

Ship classes are my current desire. There's a bunch of designs in the EU that've gotten overrun by the Star Destroyer fixation that some of the authors have, and getting them onscreen should be pretty easy.

 

I pray that hoojibs will be the ST's answer to ewoks.

 

I've said this before, but I just want some nod to the EU... I'm not super particular as to what. I just want something that says all the money and time I've invested into the EU isn't all for naught.
It's not like they can take what I've enjoyed about it and continue to enjoy about the EU away from me, even if it becomes an alternate universe, but something from it would be nice.

 

Even if they are, they are certainly not as boring as the Vong.

 

Anyway, would anyone consider the ST to itself be EU?

No more than TESB and ROTJ are. I mean, if "written and directed by GL" is the measurement of not being EU, we have the prequels and ANH, and the rest of the OT is EU.

 

GL did write ESB (second draft on) and ROTJ. And I've actually heard the argument that ESB is EU.

 

That's incorrect. He wrote a draft, not the final shooting script, which is credited to Kasdan and Lucas; the same goes to ROTJ. Neither of which he directed.

At any rate, barring personal opinions, all six films are G-canon regardless of whether Gl directed and wrote them or not. There's no reason for the ST to fall under a similar guideline.

George Lucas has also said that The Clone Wars is G Canon, and since Rebels, is being supervised by the same team it will also be G canon, as well as the ST.

 

Um...how? You're also ignoring the "did not direct" aspect of TESB and ROTJ.

 

Nightsisters that actually rides Rancors (it was a waste that they didn't do that in the Clone Wars). Maybe a mention to the Vong war (just like Obi Wan mentions the Clone Wars to Luke).
The Maw could be a nice visual, a space battle there would be nice.
And Boba Fett surviving the Sarlacc.

 

I'll give you the "did not direct" part. As for how a draft is more than a treatment, a draft is a usable script while a treatment is an outline that might or might not include the entire plot.

 

It's still being co-written by another person, and being directed by somebody else entirely. Additionally, fans don't really get to decide what is g-Canon and what isn't beyond their own personal opinions. The sequels will not be treated as part of the EU any more than the latter part of the OT was.
