Stop your windmill-powered strawman jousting, harpuah. He has never said anything even remotely like that at all, or even uttered phrases that might remind someone of words rhyme with it by free association.

He said she was "recuperating" from the surgery, not "recovering." TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT WORDS

    This thread delivers.

I know that's been mentioned already so am I being repetitive or redundant?

Have you ever wanted to dislike someone but never had a reason until one day they gave you a really good one?

What Do Women Want? has gotten good reviews from some very credible sources; based on that I'd say it's based on some decent comprehensive research. As opposed to, of course, Bergner just asking his friends what they thought.

"Threatens to disrupt all the modern stereotypes of female sexuality" pretty much sums it up. It's like the Slate reviewers read that thread on the temp boards.

Looking at chapter one... second paragraph, the author (a male) describes a female scientist who studies sexuality.

"When Chivers and I first met, she was in her mid-thirties. She wore high-healed black boots that laced up almost to her knees and skinny, stylish rectangular glasses. Her blonde hair fell over a swoop necked black top..."

    I stopped reading there.

I don't really care about whether or not men have greater sex drives than women or vice versa because using science and statistics to justify being a liar and a cheat to your spouse is repugnant.

And here I thought Bergner was having as much fun as possible doing that research.

Apparently he wrote another book on lust as well.

You know those horrible fathers that force their sons to play football or baseball. Even though the kid hates it. Is it just as wrong to force fangirlism/fanboyism on them? I've already bought my unborn daughter some SW things.

That is so wrong, Vin. Your daughter should be allowed to love whatever she wants.

    Even the Red Sox.

Force, yes... introduce, no. If she told you she hated it, and you pressed, then yeah, that would be obnoxious.

I've been forcing (no pun intended) fanboyism on my kids for eight years. With some decent success.

Star Wars and Force are 2 words that should never go together. Oh, wait.

Babies are used as billboards for their parents to express themselves all the time. All of those cutesy graphic tees about how muh the kid loves their dad or whatever are no different than a Chewbacca hoodie(except that the Chewbacca hoodie is exponentially more adorable). As long as you don't keep pushing it on them after they've expressed a disinterest in it you should be okay.

Now if you'll excuse me, I just thought of a great Christmas present for my niece that I have to go shop for.
