Good morning, GIL....kind of.

Ever wake up to the terrifying sound of shattering glass at 5:30 in the morning? Well, despite what you may be thinking, it's not fun. As it turns out my legally blind, 63 year old dad dropped the coffee pot. Seeing as how everyone else was still asleep, guess who got to tiptoe through the shards to bring him his flip-flops?

On the bright side the pot was empty and no one was hurt.

 

it's time to get one. No more coffee pots.

 

IT'S not how many cups you have that matter, it's the size that matters.

 

Well my surgery thingy begins in a couple minutes . Wish me luck

I don't remember anything. Damn they knocked me out good.

 

The Keurig is in fact quite worthwhile. I use mine to brew a cup while I'm waiting the tortuous five minutes for the pot to finish brewing. First world problems, indeed.

 

For A Chorus of Disapproval

 

I'm feeling better now, I'm just tired and can't walk straight. The last thing I remember before surgery *which was my first* was saying to the doctor "Please be gentle its my first time. At least say you love me before you stick anything in me". Yep...even drugged out and about to have surgery I stil have a weird sense of humor. Well the surgery did confirm what the doctors think I had. So yep there is no cure. Yep its chronic. But at least there is a treatment and I am not dying *so YAY I get to see the sequel trilogy!*. Oh and thankfully its not cancer and they say there is a possibility it'll be an off-and-on thing *like it wont return for like 10 years*. They now just have to put me on some steroid thing *so I guess that means I"m going to become superbuff and start kicking everybodys butts. Wait...I'm a sick and weak American girl who is now given steroids. OMG...I'm Captain America*Also afterwards the hospital brought me a guest

I wish our hospitals would have a comfort animal program. My Dad has been in hospital for nearly a year now. It's in a remote location and he gets very little human contact, so I think he'd appreciate the companionship.

I'm glad the surgery went okay Darth Claire! It sucks that there is no cure but at least whatever it is won't kill you and can be treated!

 

Yeah I'm not dying so sorry you guys are stuck with me. I remember just telling the doctor "Please tell me I'll live till 2015. Thats all I care about."

 

Oh was that your dog Darth Claire? I do apologise if so, my rant about comfort dogs in hospitals must have come across as random and a bit off base.

 

No its not my dog. Its one of those assistance dogs they use to cheer patients up
