Two great visuals from 2 funerals on Naboo. Naboo was a fabulously conceived world:

If we have a planet in the ST half as well realized as Naboo was I will be quite happy. Such a beautiful planet and pretty much any scene that takes place on the planet is a great visual IMO.

This one stands out to me. There's a battle raging around him, but the clone is still caring over his fallen brother rather than firing at the enemy. And look at the three clones to the right: almost looks like they're forming a defensive wall, protecting the fallen with their lives. Very poignant when you realize they'll soon become the face of the Empire.

^ Yeah, good soldiers. That's why I liked them much more than I expected to in TCW.

^It strikes me how gritty and dirty that shot is. One of the things I loved about the PT is how it had that immaculate reality that the originals had. Like:

FRAGWAGON has given us a great description of the SW films: 'immaculate realism'. Here is another example from TPM in Watto's junk shop. I always loved those scenes.

I have to say that one is severely marred by the ridiculous bobblehead Peter Cushing impersonator.

I loved the scene but it always made me smile. What would the Emperor and Vader be talking about....
Palpatine: See there, Lord Vader! That is where the death ray will be!
Vader: Oh I see it...but, Master, why does the station have to be round again?
Palpatine: Because it is called the Death Star. Star's are round.
Vader: Oh. It looks more like a moon from here.
Palpatine: Why do I think you're going to be the death of me?

Not sure if this one has been posted but I just had to give it some love. It's one of my favorite shots of Naboo. Just the amount of detail put into it astounds me. It looks even more amazing when you view it in its full size.

When people complain about the PT, I think they forget about the artwork imo.

That's Wayne Pygram, who played Scorpius on "Farscape." He's really awesome in that series, I wish he had a speaking role in ROTS--I'm sure he could do a fairly good Peter Cushing--but oh well.

Absolutely. The PT is beautiful in places. The Warwick Davis - Anthony Daniels chat on the official site about CE II was interesting. Daniels described defending Star Wars against someone who was being 'snobby' about it. He was saying that such films like Star Wars are patrons of the arts. It pays for modellers, musicians, CGI artists, matte painters etc etc to express their talents...

Here is a beautifully crafted visual from ROTS (Alderaan):

It certainly is a great visual from a great sequence toddk0 and welcome to the Boards. I'm surprised no one has posted some screen captures from the Attack of the Clones speeder chase. The little changes like that with the Bounty hunter are part of the 'subtle nuances' that make people fans of Star Wars.

I watched AOTC again recently and was struck by how RICHLY COLOURFUL it is. There are some great visuals from the perspective of colour alone. For example, The Outlander Club, created with lights on a massive set on a soundstage.

I enjoy the PT visuals overall, even the gratuitous CGI. The only thing that I don't like are the CGI clones, which look too plastic.
Besides that, I think pretty much all the visuals are stunning, both in appearance and creativity.

I've forgotten to add this one:
It's beautiful but sad to see how darkness begins to close around them and night comes over them as a couple on this giant world.
I also think it's one of the scenes where Anakin is the most relatable. He knows Padmé will die, he knows the Jedi don't want to or can't help him yet Padmé doesn't even realize that she needs (!) help. That's tragic and of course it leads him into the arms of a Sith-Lord who promises solutions.

Wonderful visual!! Also your point about the 'wipe' is brilliant - I had not noticed it before. The 'wipes' are part of SW story telling and it is amazing how well it works on a subconcious level (as all good storytelling should do).

    Phantom Menace
    -The Gungan City reveal
    -Darth Maul reveal on Naboo

    Attack of the Clones
-The beginning of the Clone War is filled with great shots.

    Revenge of the Sith
    - Most of the stuff on Mustafar
    - Opening moments of the film were pretty awe inspiring back in 05'
    - The moment Vader's mask is in place and he begins to breathe.

David Tattersall, assuming he had control (Lucas), did a nice job in the prequels.

    Episode I
The three-way battle at the end (yes, I actually like that scene)

    Episode II
Geonosis from when the beasts are released in the arena to the end of the battle of Geonosis
The scene at the end with the thousands of clone troopers

    Episode III
    The Battle of Coruscant
The opera scene (I refuse to call it Squid Lake:p)
The duel on Mustafar and the senate duel
    Vader getting his suit
