TOR Advanced Class Training.

My character has just reached level 12 and I went to the advanced class trainer to specialize her to become a Jedi Guardian, but the trainer says "we have nothing to talk about." And here comes my question, must my character be in level 10 to specialize in a advanced class or can the level be over 10?

 

Problem solved.

I had to first go to Master Nimi before I can go and talk to the advanced class trainer. Stupid me.



Another question, can't a guardian wields two lightsabers?

 

No, Guardian's have a single saber and either a shield generator or some other generator (possibly focus, can't remember). They can satisfy tanking or DPS requirements based on build.

Jedi Sentinel's wield 2 lightsabers and are a pure DPS class (though the Watchman tree has useful group buffs such as increased damage, increased defense & speed, and group heals based on DoTs...)

I came in to add DoT's = Damage over Time. In the Sentinel's case, the damage is burn damage, with the Sith equivalent it is bleed damage.

Weird huh, someone burning can heal your team

 

That is weird. I have never seen anybody, in a MMORPG, that is burning can heal his own team. But I see that now. LOL

Yeah, I have started to notice that. Thanks for the warning. On the Jedi character, I have already problem with defeating Lord Tarnis. And on the Sith character...I have problem defeating Lord Grathan.....So, it has started a long time ago.

 

I can do 1-10 in a single session, maybe 5 hours? Perhaps I'm just a geek!

If you find a mission / boss tough, do some warzones. You will gain xp, cash AND warzone commendations.

 

No, that's about average. It varies slightly depending on which world you're on and which class, Sith Warrior gets a companion earlier than Inquisitor for example, making the later portion of Korriban faster for the warrior, and Korriban in general is somewhat more compact than Tython or Ord Mantell.

Also, if you're having trouble with game difficulty early on that's generally a sign of one of two things: being under-geared or mismanaging your playstyle. Figuring out an effective attack rotation is critical, especially is you're dps racing the enemy.

I've only heavily played the Republic side of things (Jedi Knight & Trooper mainly).

In terms of being under-geared... between levels 1-10 there really isn't that much you can get aside from quest rewards. Once you hit the fleet then get yourself some gear. Run the first flashpoint a few times to get XP and good gear

 

Actually it is much easier to get up to level 16 with a Sith than with a Jedi.

And how can I change from medium armor to heavy armor?

 

First of you get the armor set secoundly can you wear it? Level requirement for that piece and if you specialized in Marauder you can't wear heavy armor or Sith Inquistiors just can't

 

I'm a Sith Marauder, so there I can't wear heavy armor. And I found out that a Jedi Guardian can wear heavy armor, right?

Yes, but it will cost you real money!
