I'm not sure why The Phantom Menace is a bad title...It's actually one of my favorite titles of the Star Wars series.

 

I'm hoping that Disney will finally reveal the official release date. It’s getting a bit silly how they keep on releasing dates for all their other films but Episode 7.

 

Yeah, that needs to be one of the nuggets they give us at D23. A title and Big Three confirmation would be nice too, but I'm not holding my breath for those yet, even though they should come soon.

 

I agree, even if we don't get anything else, a specific release date is pretty much a guarantee.

 

I'm not expecting a single piece of info. Look what happened at comic-con and CEII.

 

But Disney might be holding out for their own trade show in order to fully flaunt their acquisition. -for lack of a better verb than 'flaunt'.

 

CEII was all about Star Wars. What better event for revelations than that.

 

Right, but key words would be "Disney might be holding out for their own trade show...".

 

CEII was also Disney's own...

 

Only because they own LFL and the franchise now. SW Celebrations have existed before this point.

 

Lucasfilm also specifically stated ahead of time that there would be no Episode VII news at comic con. Disney probably wanted Lucasfilm to hold back until D23.

 

CEII had also been in the planning since before the Disney acquisition. To Star Wars fans, it would seem obvious to announce something there, but on the wider pop cultural scale it was a relatively low-key event, and geographically out-of-the-way from where VII is currently being developed. It's probable that Disney held back on Star Wars stuff in order to not drown out SDCC or CEII - but that's mostly speculative on my part. The point is, soon would be a good time for Disney to start drumming up press for Episode VII. It's ludicrous to think the movie still doesn't at least have a title they can share with us!

+We got ONE announcement from CEII - John Williams. More of a confirmation, but still, it's something.

 

Obviously the schedules are going to be different this time around, but anyone remember how much info we had for TPM by this point?

Really surprised how little has been leaked.

 

By this point in TPM, filming had already been nearly completed as I recall. I'm guessing we'll get leaks by the time filming starts in 2014.

 

I'm sure there have been tons of would-be whistleblowers already.

Remember that time a printer and self promoter tried to pretend he has a real Episode VII poster for a few weeks and it just wouldn't take off? He's Tweeted that to me like 4 times now. We know it isn't real.

 

We shouldn't put our hopes up too high for this weekend.

Even though it's over a year away, I've convinced my wife to let me plop down the moolah for the Jedi Master Celebration ticket.
Is it 2015 yet?

 

Heard that there is likely Star Wars concept art in the Parks & Resorts Pavilion. So there is going to be a lot of Star Wars there, and Lucasfilm is 100% CONFIRMED at the Saturday panel.

 

A co-worker of mine will be there and said she would take a bunch of pictures for her "Star Wars nerd buddy". Hopefully we get some info.

 

She won't get any pictures of the panel. They're confiscating all phones and cameras before you can go in.

 

Lucasfilm will probably go last going by how it's stated in the schedule
