Saga favourite single shot in the saga

Rob Coleman stated in SW insider 90 that there are some physical differences in the models they used for each ship and that is why they decided to give the ROTS ship a different name.

 

I'm still gonna pretend it's the same ship that just ended up getting remodeled over the next 20 years. Is that REALLY so difficult to believe?

 

Thanks for the info AColodin. Still enjoy the scene being so reflective of some of the first shots of ANH.

 

Me too But I wish I never read that darn magazine article Like Seagoat I prefer if it is the same ship.

 

Yeah, since there's nothing in the Ep 3 movie that states it isn't the Tantive 4, then I'm fine with keeping it that way in my head(I'm not really into the EU that much anyway), so I didn't even know it was a different ship til a few months ago(and learned it from these boards)

 

I always rewind that part....

 

I like many different scenes and shots throughout the entire Saga, but this will always be what comes to mind when I think Star Wars.

The entire promise of the saga's adventure is in this sequence and particularly Hamill's longing look into the distance. The latter is thus my #1 favorite. Although I do have a very soft spot for this one as well (but ONLY in this particular version!):

 

Ian's amazingly creepy smile, combined with the camera on a swivel that comes to a halt when he says his line, combined with the "phantom of the opera"-esque organ courtesy of John Wlliams playing in the background, makes this one of my favorite little moments in the Saga. Always gives me the chills.

It's just a damn shame that the next shot of Palpatine after this is a mediocre, overexposed slow-zoom. K

I'd have to say it would have to be when Anakin and Padme are entering the arena in Geonosis.

 

Because the ship in ROTS have similar but different features in its exterior (the ship is also truncated and is a good deal shorter). Rob Coleman, the animation director, said already in 2005 that the ship in ROTS is a predecessor to the one seen in ANH.

 

So it had at least one major rebuild in 20 years. Real world ships and planes have been modified to make them longer or shorter, so I'm OK with that.

 

Well, it wasn't the same ship to begin with (at least not per ILM and they must've been given some instructions) but anyone may of course view the ship anyway they like.

Anyway, I forgotten to mention my favorite shot... While there are so many of them, I have to go with the opening of ANH.

 

Given that the novelization has it as the Tantive IV (and, I think, possibly, material like The Making of Revenge of the Sith might have done so as well- certainly The Art of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith did) - I could see the change being a retcon, rather than ILM's original intention.

 

Just kidding. I really love the Luke looking at the 2 suns. That's the best.

 

The flight into cloud city...beautiful colors and scenery. Small falcon and two escort ships against the clouds. Epic.

My take on this thread with one defining screenshot from each Episode [Imgur album].

Of course it's hard to pick just one defining screenshot from each episode, let alone from all six. There are numerous turning points, events and decisions which all lead to the eventual conclusion, but the screenshots I've chosen are the ones I see most often in my head when I think of each episode.
