Buff, NY Buffalo Zoo - September 8 INTEREST THREAD

What: Buffalo Zoo Appearance/Grandparents Day/Fundraising for Arctic Exhibit
When: Sunday September 8
Time: Arrival 10:30 Appearance 11-2
Where: Buffalo Zoo

The zoo representative got back to me today with our offer for helping raise awareness and a little money for the Arctic Exhibit that will house the polar bears. He suggested we appear on Grandparents Day at the zoo as there will be a lot of publicity for the day already planned.

This is in the very early stages of planning, but we have been asked to pose for pictures and request donations for pictures. All money raised will be turned over to the zoo after the event.

There is preliminary talk of ideas for certain characters, but I advised to hold off until we see what costumes will be available.

We have been asked to appear in costume for this event. We may have a small table with basic club information, but I won't be able to confirm until I speak with the zoo and confirm our appearance. They are requesting our costumes, so there may be a limit as to the number of non-costumed support we can bring.

Please let me know if you are available so I can confirm an appearance by early next week (August 19)

We are asked to park near gate #1. This is where Colvin and the park's ring road come together. We will meet at 10:30, then contact our zoo partner who will let us in. Please arrive at 10:30 so we can enter as a group.
Weapons are ok for this event, but the zoo is asking that we do not draw them near the animals. anywhere on the lawn or near the gazeebo is fine.

 

UGGH!!! It's opening day and AJ, his parents, and my sitter have plans, leaving me without a sitter so I may participate. So I am, unfortunately, a no.
