Along with the Playstation 2, though PS1 did revolutionise gaming and set up the platform for PS2/Xbox. The fact that the PS1 reached its peak at the turn of the Third Millennium is even more significant, for me at least.

I think the first game I ever played might have been Frogger on the intellivision.

The first system I ever owned was a SNES with Super Mario World. :)

Christmas 1986, original Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt combo on the NES. Good times!

The first game I remember playing was a tank sim of some description on my dad's Macintosh II. At least I think it was a Macintosh II. I was only 7 or 8 at the time, so I don't remember it that well. I do remember jumping around as though I'd won the lottery when I first took my dad's tank out by making him run over a whole bunch of mines.

A friend of mine once buyed a game that simulated driving a garbage truck. That was a weird game for sure...

Wow, I was 13 when I played it which was eons ago... It is a fantasy game where you fight these super bads then they go away and come back (can't remember why) years and years later and you have to go on a quest and finish them off. Insert dramaz and lots of fighting and stories along the way.

.... I am sure Wikipedia has a better answer to that than me. :p

Someone said their first SW was Dark Forces. A golden age game, which along with it's sequel Jedi Knight (Don't Outcast or Academy me, they're mere pretenders) are the pinnacle of SW first person gaming.

    But surely... Rebel Assault?

You take that back! While Academy was lack luster, Outcast was the greatest Star Wars game since the original Dark Forces.

Ender Sai you hit the nail on the head. Dark Forces, Rebel Assault, and Tie Fighter were my first SW games. Maybe I'm just getting older but I don't think there has been a better SW game than Tie Fighter.

Rebel Assault was a great game, but it did nto always work the way it should be.
I think I had to restart the game about three times every time I played it...
After a while, it really bothered me.

For some reason, I found the last levels of Dark Forces easier than the first ones. I always got lost at the beginning.

Me too. I suppose I just got better at playing, because the first levels of Dark Forces always felt harder than the end of the game.

Earliest one I remember was Frogger on the Atari 2600.

I still buy Frogger when it's release on every platform I own for some reason. I hate that game.

My first game, appropriately enough, was Nightshift.

My first SW game was either Dark Forces or Tie Fighter. I loved being inducted to the Emperor's secret squad (complete with expanding tattoo) and flying the 'abducted Palpatine' mission (which cropped up in a different way at the start of RotS).

Agree with Shadow Trooper about Outcast though; it was excellent. KotOR has to be handed the 'Best SW Game' title though.
