I know it's on in a game but starkiller supposedly killed that jedi master when he force pushed him out of the ship window but he survived so maybe mace windu did as well.

Could be because of different destinies.

I feel the same. The EU may have added too much. I like the idea of a Star Wars universe that you don't know too much about, one that is eerie, thrilling and mysterious. Knowing too much about the technicalities makes it lose its original flavour somewhat.

No, really. Sometimes I (and others, I am sure) value our friends greater than our own self-interests, which in my case was to stay at home and not watch a film I personally did not want to see. But the desire to please my friends forced me to go. It sounds harsh and radical but that's how it was, and sometimes still is. Therefore, one may go to see a film despite not having the least interest in it whatsoever.

But you see my point, right? You don't go to the theater and pull a movie out of a hat and that's what you go see - whether it's Monsters University or This Is The End. We all make some sort of preliminary judgment about movies we haven't seen so that we can decide on the ones that we want to see.

    It's pretty simple, really.

I don't think Windu survived and I don't think he should have.

Yeah, I see your point. I'm just being annoying ;) I have a tendency to overanalyse and implement too much detail. Picking a random film to go and see at random seems ludicrous I must admit.

If Palp's lightning didn't fry Mace's brain and nervous system, then his head banging during it would cause severe whiplash and a possible severing of the spinal cord. And I don't think people can think correctly when they've been zapped with a zillion volts of unlimited power. Hell, I don't
know how Vader could even keep his eyelids open after he threw the Emperor down the bottomless pit.

When I watch Episode VII or any other Star Wars movie, if they bring back Windu, I'm gonna stand up, throw my popcorn in the air, shout "REALLY, DISNEY?!?!?!" and sit back down and continue watching.

What is with this obsession in Star Wars of not having characters die?

People want to see their favorite characters somehow cheat all of the time and it ruins the story.

    It makes it unrealistic.

Exactly. He suffered a dignified death doing what he loved best - defending the Republic. Let it remain at that.

To be fair, given the technology available in the Star Wars Galaxy, I don't suppose it'd be tremendously hard to cheat death. Sidious virtually rendered Vader into a machine to keep him alive, if you can even call it alive...

Old Star Wars characters never die. They only fade away...

Samuel L Jackson seems to think so, then again, would his opinion matter in any way.

He can always be a force ghost. I don't see anything wrong with that idea.
