In case you live under a rock and remain blissfully ignorant:

(There's also an "unrated version" for people who don't know how to look for internet porn.)

On one hand, a "pickup artist" anthem by who I assume to be Alan Thicke's bastard son. On the other, a band whose appeal is based solely upon looking like rejected Blade Runner concept art. I gotta hand it to the Boy Wonder, though. He sure knows how to make a crappy song in the way only a misogynistic bad Marvin Gaye imitator can.

'Get Lucky', by not by much. Whenever I travel around with my brother, he always insists on having on the top 20/40 stations (KISS, AMP FM, etc) in his car, so I've been privy to all sorts of annoying pop music this year. That 'Twist & Shout' jingle is the worst of the bunch so far. I'm convinced that my hell in the afterlife will be stuck in a room with that song playing constantly.

Pfft, I like the Daft Punk song. There's a bunch of stuff way worse than that.

The other song he did with Daft Punk, "Lose Yourself to Dance" is much better than "Get Lucky"

How can you not like the Daft Punk song Even. What kind of soulless husk who names star trek episodes off the top of his head are you?

If they're as bad as you say, I guess I'm better off not clicking either of those links.

Anyway, my favorite song during this summer, by a wide margin, was Mahalia Jackson's cover of "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing." Just absolutely stunning, and real discovery for me this season.

Having Pharrell Williams on Blurred Lines is the least of that song's worries. Considering been a cesspool of contraversies. Currently Thicke is embroiled in a copywrite battle with Marvin Gaye's estate over it.

I vote for Alan Thicke's bastard son for obvious reasons.

Eh, I'm siding with Thicke and co on this. There are some stylistic similarities in parts of Blurred Lines to other songs (the start is reminiscent of Gaye's Got to Give It Up, and there are commonalities in the chorus to both that and Funkadelic's Sexy Ways) but nowhere near the level for copyright infringement. There's more overt overlap with other work by Pharrell than there is the two songs under contention.

I thought you were being deliberate with the joke and already knew.

I like Get Lucky, though now thanks to that meme sing it as Get Loki.

My introduction to Blurred Lines was from the gender swapping parody that linked to the unrated video version, which then just totally creeped me the **** out.

This thread raises an important question...

Why does Google recommend 'Kirk Cameron banana' as the first option after just his name when you do a search on him?

So God stole the stay-on-tab from soda pop makers? Doesn't sound like intelligent design to me; sounds like theft.
