Reading this book was like pushing a shopping cart with a bad wheel--no matter how hard you try to keep it straight, the plot just kept pulling to the right.

I have not read it but if the cover is to be believed 501:st it is a generic military sconce-fiction story with its own already existing cover that the author/publisher had lying around and smacked Star Wars on after changing some names

    Seriously this is the cover
    [IMG]
It has nothing that says Star Wars on it[face_sigh]. Why is it that the Young Yedi Knight series who were kid/young adult books has better covers than todays main books?

Actually the cover pic is of clone commandos- which were in the Republic Commando game, long before the book was published.

Huh, did not know that, my bad[face_blush]
But I still think the cover is rather boring

In which we learn Stockholm Syndrome in Star Wars is properly referred to as Kyrimorut Syndrome.

Hate is such a strong world, I would say dislike and disappointed. And I am disappointed and dislike those covers they are boring and without fantasy or a feeling of space-opera

Despite the title, this book contains about two pages of commandoing, a couple chapters of Imperials, and an awful lot of women, some literally kidnapped, swooning over hunky armored Mandalorians in the kitchens of their farmhouses.

Darman refuses to leave the Imperial army to protect his son, but when learning of Jedi living with said son, decides that he must kill all Jedi and steal his son back; and then, And Then...

Someone had to do one about the actual story sooner or later (stupid unfinished cliffhanger).

Before anyone knew what the hell they were doing with this Star Wars thing, there was Splinter of the Mind's Eye: Obi-Wan's ghost possessing Luke, Force gems, Leia not knowing how to swim, Vader coming off incredibly weird, and retroactive incest . . . it got kind of weird.

Alan Dean Foster unwittingly provides the inspiration for the L-Canon thread's wackiest retcon.

The theory (postulated partially by me, no less) that the Even Piell we see in Coruscant Nights was in fact Challus Puff (or whatever his name is, the actor from Dark Rendezvous), possessed by the ghost of Even Piell. It's inspired by the retcon that Obi-wan possessed at least one of the Skywalker twins during the duel with Vader in SOTME.

That's...dumb. I read Star Wars EU, and with those low standards for verisimilitude, I hereby deem that...dumb.

If that was the case I think I'd drench myself in oil and run screaming like a little girl through a torch warehouse.
