Fanclub Oya manda!: The Mandalorian/Republic Commando Fan Club

I think this is due to Karen falling out with the Star Wars books. She said she had planned to add to the dictionary, but won't since she isn't finishing the Commando series anymore. Pretty sure she would've added such generic terms like you mentioned, among other words needed to be added to the Mando'a Language.

I wonder if we will ever find out what Happened to Mandalore in 138 ABY. Maybe Hondo Karr will shine again.

 

What do you think was the most preferred or used weapons brand by the Mandalorians, BlasTech or Merr-Sonn?

 

Mandalorians are a pretty independent and practical bunch. I think it would come down to the personal preference of each mando on that score.

 

Can we agree on the saddest scene in the movie saga?



Even when I was an eight-year-old kid who didn't know what a Mandalorian was, and thought Jango was a bad guy, I was still very sad when that blow landed.

 

My son bawled his eyes out for 15 minutes straight when he saw that scene. He loves everything Jango/Boba Fett related and is convinced the Mandalorians are the good guys in Star Wars (wonder where he got that from? ).

I told him that Jango came up against a superior opponent and lost. There is no better way for a Mandalorian to die. Of course to survive is always preferable.

 

I agree survival is always the better option

 

I honestly felt the involvement of the Reek was unnecessary, it was a fight scene that had so much more potential. I personally think that it could've been longer and more 'I-know-Mace-is-going-to-win-but-Jango-is-making-me-think-otherwise'. For someone who has such a high reputation as a deadly bounty hunter, I definitely thought he should've put up more of a fight.

 

I had read somewhere (can't remember where so I have no proof) that the fight scene was originally intended to be longer and a bit more epic. I always thought that it should have been as well.

 

I remember seeing that scene for the first time and it felt pretty epic, but if it had been longer and maybe if Jango had gotten his hands on more than one Jedi before being topped by Windu it would have been perfect

 

I would've loved a longer fight. Maybe have Jango actually hurt Mace a bit before he died. Mace, Obi-Wan, and Anakin basically came out of the Arena smelling like roses; it removed some of the intensity of the situation because there was no harm coming to the heroes.

 

well mace was a bit of a scorched rose...kinda

 

I think a brief moment of hand-to-hand combat would've been pretty good. Even some explosives would've been sick

 

Not only would it have shown off more of Jango's skill, but we could have seen some Mace awesomeness as well. Oh well, alas it was not to be.

 

They covered the awesome factor with just having Samuel L Jackson imo

 

This somewhat makes up for it

 

I found his character to be annoying throughout much of the PT. I wanted to see him be a badshebs, not just be told that he was. The only moment he got was the Chancellor's arrest scene. To me he was a wasted opportunity.
