I wouldn't worry about that; he had his chance to decide which name to use BEFORE the announcement was made. Now that it's done, as you said, he's committed, and everyone and their mother knows he's working on this. I'd have to agree that he's all in now.

He'll use his real name. Wasn't he a script doctor on Catching Fire and Oblivion??

On Oblivion probably but I believe he was one of the main writers on Catching Fire.

Apparently not, as he is now being credited under a pseudonym according to IMDB..

It think a more interesting writer would be Charlie Kaufman. Just imagine the movie if it was... "Being Luke Skywalker."

Ya script doctoring is pretty much a way to make money. That's why he uses a different name. With script doctoring, you really have little say, and pretty much come in as an advice giver and editor so to speak. Creative wise not much is taken from them. Even Michael. That's why he puts his full name on films like Episode VII, Toy Story 3, and LMS, is because he has pretty much full control over what he is writing. With those two films Oblivion and Catching Fire there are so many writers on there, your voice is not heard much.

I've looked everywhere for it myself. I think the lecture's called Endings: The Good, The Bad and The Insanely Great but I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

Yep, that's exactly what I've found too. It's frustrating because I would really love to actually listen to him talk about Star Wars. That first interview can't come quick enough.

It would be nice if they released a pic of Michael with JJ or something, just a behinmd the scenes pic, that would give nothing away, but jeez, just give us something .

I initially read that post too quick, and my brain interpreted it as Michael J .. I thought Michael Jackson ... Disney link ... CGI ... oh no!

Rumors insist on many re-writes and far from finished, but who really knows, beyond a handful of folks.

And let's not forget "rewrites" at this point consist mainly of dialogue tweaks, small direction changes to make characterization more apparent, consolidating scenes or information. I'm sure that 99% of the "hard" work is done, as to what the movie actually is and how it plays out.

If that makes sense. Long day at work, whatever.

Yeah, remember guys, scripts almost always go through several drafts before being finished and finalized. We know the general story has been there since before the sale, it was just in a loose form. I'm sure they'll be tweaking it right up until shooting, and maybe even during.

I've never heard of a script yet where they weren't working on it throughout shooting. The main foundations will have been laid for awhile, and all things point to the ILM crews having been at work on the main sequences for some time.

Well, for all we know the guy might've been working on it for months before they actually let us know about it, so...

I think he had at least nailed the treatment and outline of the story ( I think he's even worked out the basic story for the trilogy - which would be a first for a SW trilogy).
