Swannie sis, would you be so kind as to once again elaborate on the EUCNN? I think we had this discussion a month or two ago, but I don't really recall.

    Okay. Let's see *checks files*

    Ahem

The EUCNN was a farce based loosely around CNN on American televsion. CNN - http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/ - is a news source that covers a wide variety of subjects. That's what EUCNN tries to be, albeit usually with more laughter. Here's a few iterations of EUCNN from a post Becca made a few whatevers ago:

I just remember it being a whole lot of crazy fun!

Well, would you like to head this up? It sounds amusing, and you seem to be very interested.

As long as there is no issue with it from the mods, I'd say go right ahead. Glad to have shenanigans in the guise of news. Reminds me of the real CNN. :p

Sure I'll do it. And I'll be a purrrfect little angel about it too. O:) < See?

Now asking for reporters and such to help out! If you want to, or know someone who may want to, pm me! And don't forget to spread the news!

I'd like to be put on the list to speak about a topic whenever the floor is open. Thanks!

Okay, tad rusty on the official protocol, but I'm assuming I can just recognize you as the current speaker since no one else has requested to bring something up.

So, provided I have authority to grant it, go for it s65horsey!

If you have multiple people asking for the floor you can start a list and then do just as you did by tagging the person you're giving the floor to. You can also appoint your VC to be the one to take care of that if you would like.

I would like for us as a Senate to come up with completely new Awards. A lot of these were created a long time ago and were 'in jokes' for a completely different set of users. I'm sure that we have our own set of 'in jokes' and I'd love to see those put to the forefront. We can keep quite a few of the top part awards (though I really have always disliked the most overrated award and would like to see up come up with a happier award to put there). So I'm mainly looking at the "Most Likely to..." section of the awards. We've always changed the name for the Mod ones, but could we come up with something funnier than Jusik's Yes Man? For instance I think Bardan_Jusik's Clone would be a funnier way to portray a similar award.

Is there any interest in either making suggestions as a big group here or forming a smaller group to do this via PM and then post here for Senate approval?

I'm certainly interested, but I'd like to see what other people have to say to your suggestion as well. But yeah, I think it's a great idea. (I'm not too fond of the Most Overrated award either.)

I'm wondering how so many people say I'm 'Morose' but that's a different subject.

I don't have any new ideas at the moment but I'm perfectly happy with putting some thought into some new ones.

Also, might I suggest that a big group come up with a pool of ideas here, and then a smaller group of admins/mods/senators/whatever sort out which are appropriate or desirable in a PM setting?

I agree, especially about the Most Overrated. I didn't put anyone in there, because, well, no one's overrated.

I'm for setting up some new awards.

    I agree with Zarks here!
Narrowing down the pool will be an easier job than filling it with ideas. :)

Ok so I think we've seen enough people say this is a good idea and I agree with zarks that we should make suggestions here. I'll compile a list as people make suggestions.

Senators - what we need now are suggestions from your threads. I'll even post a thing you can copy/paste into your thread.

"We are planning on revamping the EUC Awards and would like suggestions for awards that you would like to see included. The Senate feels like we have been using awards that the users from the past created and we'd love to have awards unique to the users of today. Is there an inside joke from your thread that can be turned into an award? Please send the suggestion with your Senator or post it in the Senate thread."

Obviously you can make your own statement to your thread, but this might be easier for those that have a hard time wording things. Off to the NUS I go! Let me know if anyone has any questions.
