Ba is a decent striker, he should get more game time.

Lukaku should too, but he's still more of a raw talent that needs refining.

Welcome, Eto'o. We may not pay 300K a week, but it'll be good to have you.

Arsenal with a tough CL group, too. Marseille, Dortmund and Napoli. Worst choices from the bottom two pots.

Chelsea get another basic one. City get stuck with Munich. United with an average group.

Madrid, Juventus, Galatasaray looks like the second toughest, Arsenal definitely got the group of death. Yeah, we didn't get a bad draw, although Basel is going to be out for blood after the Euro semis last year.

I'm actually pumped to see Sociedad play against Manchester United, don't know why...

United apparently had a £25million bid for Ander Herrera rejected by Athletic Bilbao.
Seems his release clause is around £30mil, which again begs the question why not just offer them enough to trigger the clause?

Ok it's a lot for a player like him, but if he's a good long-term prospect you hope to make that back over time.

I would assume that it's the same reason why they made that unnecessary low bid for Felliani and Baines, trying to see if they can get them cheaper. At least that's the only reason I can think of. It's easy to forget that the highest they've ever paid for a player was 31 mil, so I think that just tells how hesitant they are to just break that record for a prospective player. Honestly as a United fan myself, I like that they don't pulled Chelsea or City moves by blowing a ton of money on players, but nowadays players don't really come at such fees. The times have caught up to United where they need to break their transfer record or else we'll be in the same boat as Arsenal, lack of fresh players.

It's not true that you can't get good players cheap.

Strootman & Thiago were both available for less than £20million each, in todays market that is cheap but United didn't go for them. Spurs bought Paulinho for around £17million and look set to get Eriksen for the bargain price of £10million. Heck even Fellaini would have been available for not that much had United bid for him before the end of July.
There are cheap deals out there, but United have put themselves in a position where they really don't have much negotiating power and teams know they are running out of time. They should simply pay what is necessary if they want to get a player, otherwise they'll end up with nothing.

Time for the Super Cup. Not expecting a whole lot, Bayern is favored and should be.

    Lineups:
Bayern Munich: Neuer, Rafinha, Boateng, Dante, Alaba, Lahm, Robben, Muller, Kroos, Ribery, Mandzukic.
Subs: Starke, Van Buyten, Javi Martinez, Shaqiri, Pizarro, Gotze, Contento.

Chelsea: Cech, Ivanovic, Cahill, Luiz, Cole, Ramires, Lampard, Schurrle, Oscar, Hazard, Torres.
Subs: Schwarzer, Essien, Mata, Mikel, Lukaku, Terry, Azpilicueta.

    Quality goal by Chelsea.

They weren't this attacking against United, does Mourinho fear Bayern less?

Hot damn, what a match!!! :D Bayern was the epitome of "It ain't over till it's over". That goal in the last seconds of the extra time was amazing.

Good game for sure, tough on Chelsea to concede at the last moment. Still, when you go down to 10 men it is that much harder.

Today's slate is a bit of a slog. Spurs-Arsenal should be good tomorrow.

I was starting to think none of the 3PM kick-off teams in the EPL were going to score. Luckily Norwich & Stoke have managed it now :p

Soft spot for Palace. Even more so with Holloway so great to see.

In other news Mr Epic, do you accept my Chelsea based wager?
