When Williams dies, he'll just come back as a Force ghost and continue composing.

Yay for John Williams! Rewatched Super 8 and Michael Giacanno did a pretty good John Williams impression so I'd have him warming up in the bullpen if Williams is ever able to be unable to complete his duties.

John Williams' score will definitely be one of the highlights of the ST. It is excellent to see him returning to compose another sure-to-be legendary score!

There is no death, there is only the Force.

I love ANH. Who doesn't? You know what the worst part of it is? Watching a Star Wars movie without all the wonderful Star Wars music that Williams eventually wrote. You know what I never hear people bash the prequels for? The music. Anakin's theme, the marches, the sweeping choral arrangements - that was top notch stuff. Can't freaking wait to put a theme with "Jedi Master Luke," or "the fledgling Jedi," or "The new Darth in town." Many people have said that the original movie didn't come together as watchable until they put Williams's score with it - I can't imagine the day we have Star Wars without him.

Good news, although honestly I'm equally fine with someone else getting a chance. Jeremy Soule's Knights of the Old Republic score proved to me the series can still thrive after Williams steps down. Haven't played that game in nearly a decade, but I can still hear a few of its themes dancing in my head.

Did a little research (googlin') and it's Mark Volpe, the Boston Symphony Orchestra General Manager.

They will. And a Star Wars movie actually would be a Star Wars movie without JW, but it wouldn't be a SW *Main Saga* movie without him. If he can just hang on 6 or so more years of good working health to finish off IX, I'd be completely satisfied with other talented composers bringing the spinoff movies and/or new series to life :) But pleeease let Johnny finish the Main Saga.

This arrangement was written around the time of ESB. It was never in any recording session that I'm aware of, but it did appear on the ESB arcade game back in '85. That was the first time I heard it. It appears on sheet music arranged by Dan Coates and is titled "May the Force Be With You". It is a beautiful rendition. The bridge at 1:27 is just gorgeous. I would probably be bawling my head off like the end of E.T. if JW pulled this arrangement off in the film.

They used a similar version of binary sunset when Ahsoka left the Jedi Temple in the Clone Wars climax.
