Nope. Nothing on Facebook or the Star Trek website.

I'm grateful for her contributions to the EU and the Lit forum. Rebel Dawn was one of the first few EU books I read about 11-12 years ago when I was getting back into the EU, and it was one of the great experiences from that reburst of interest. A shame she was never brought back for her proposed Leia trilogy. As was mentioned earlier, it seems she really put a lot of research and effort into HST and that can be a rare thing sometimes.

I wish her well, no matter the odds.

it doesn't look good but but we can still hope she get's better.

this is what it says on her wookieepedia article.

On September 3, 2013, Crispin posted on Facebook that her cancer had progressed and her condition had worsened to the point that she would not likely live much longer. She invited people to post messages for her on her Facebook, which would be read to her by her husband, Michael.[3]

It's sad to say but cancer can be awfully fast and exceedingly vicious.

Terrible news. I'm not sure what else to say.

I know I'll definitely be rereading the HST sometime in the near-future.

Sad news.. Fast too. Then again, given what cancer can do to people maybe that's a blessing.

We expected it, but I guess I was hoping she'd pull out. I can't imagine what her family's going through. :(

Obit said she'd had a long battle with cancer. After seeing reports of her message on Facebook I can't say it comes as a shock. My condolences to her family and friends.

    Aw -- that's awful!

If this thread is anything to go by, her memory will live on through the lasting contribution she made to Star Wars and the sci-fi universe. @};-

I'm really sorry to hear this.

I loved her Han Solo books when they came out. I remember I wrote her an email (back in the AOL days) and she was kind enough to write a thoughtful reply. Very nice lady.

For fans of Star Trek, Ms. Crispin wrote two great sequels to the original series episode "All Our Yesterdays." Check'm out.

    Rest in peace, Ann.

I know I have Yesterday's Son in my ST bookcase. Not sure on the other one though - cover doesn't look familiar. I'll have to take a look.

While I haven't read those- I did read- and liked, at least one of her Star Trek TNG novels: Eyes of the Beholders.

Yeah, damn, I just saw the article on the TFN main page. At least any suffering she went through has ended, and judging by her final comments online she was in a good place in the end.

Here's to you Ann. *raises glass*
