I been thinking about spin-off movie ideas and thought about a spy based movie with Leia as the main character.

I think Ksenia Solo looks close enough to Carrie Fisher to play the role.

I didn't see it when that rumor first came out, and I don't see it now.

And/or her as Leia's daughter. Either way I don't see the resemblance. Too thin, blue eyes...too modelly-looking.

You know that they can get contacts that change eye color. Either way what do you think about the idea of the story idea? You know with Leia on a spy mission for the Rebellion in about 3 BBY whoever plays her?

Well 3 BBY she'd be sixteen, which is a touch young to anchor a Star Wars movie. Anyway, I don't see them doing anything else with the Big Three until the ST is done. Seeing Old Leia in 2015 and Young Leia in 2016 would be weird, I think.

I agree that it might be weird to seeing the old Leia in '15 then young in '16 but they could release it after the ST in '2020 or 2021 if that would really be a problem. But I disagree that a sixteen y/o character could not hold a movie. A character like that (especially Leia) could be a badass and could be a role model for kids by showing a strong teen who knows how to do the right thing.

Well, okay, but in 2020 Ksenia Solo will be 33. :p

Andrew Garfield is playing a teenage Spider-Man and he is in his thirties if I am correct. And again it does not have to be solo in the role. She was a suggestion.

I don't like the idea of the Big 3 being recast in spin-off movies which is why I'm hopeful the young Han Solo spin-off rumor is untrue. Casting Ewan McGregor as a young Alec Guinness is one thing, but casting someone in a role that is roughly the same age that Harrison Ford or Carrie Fisher were in the OT doesn't make sense to me.

And I think when actors wear contact lenses that change their eye color it looks bad.

I've seen a few people idly hope for animated films based on popular EU stories...

...and I have to admit, upon thinking on it I think we may see a few. The stories are already written, and would only require streamlining and tweaking into a script. Dinsey are the masters of producing high-quality animations (hand drawn or 3d) that seem to cost them very little in the grand scheme of things.

I suppose we will have to see.

I don't care if they recast the Big Three. The films are all based on stuff that actually happened a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, and I'm quite sure the REAL Luke Skywalker didn't actually look like Mark Hamill or whatever. :p

I mean, okay, I wouldn't want to see them recast in the ST... but outside of that? Meh. Don't care. I mean, I suppose I'd opt against it if I had a say in the matter (might as well keep visual continuity intact if you can) but it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Surely they can wait for Disney's remakes of the OT? Judging by three distinct versions of the 'Witch Mountain' film, they may be habitual!

It's obviously preferable to have a Tron Legacy styled fake CGI representation of the actor, Ulicus. Come on.

Do you think we'll still have canon levels with the new story team, or will it be one continuity?

I wouldn't be surprised if JJ goes the same route he did with the new Treks. Which is more or less exactly what they did when making TCW. So like, very very loose continuity, even in whatever new spinoff "EU" it creates for itself.

It's the mindset of "quality over continuity", without acknowledging that you can have, well, both.
