Gaming Star Wars: Battlefront (2015) & Battlefront 2 (2017) [Mod Approved]

I hope you get to play as the Sandcrawler and mow down your enemies, watch them flee before you, and hear the lamentations of their women.

 

Ea confirmed a thIrd person component will be in the game, now what that means is up to dabate, although from that we know that it will be primaraly a 1st person shooter, they already confirmed it will be using the battlefield 4 engine. what i hope it means is that it can be played first person or third person equally well, but a negative could be it's a 1st person with 3rd person tacked on which would suck, or more likely it will be first person while you are playing as infantry (majority of the game) and zooms out to 3rd person when playing as a jedi.

 

Maybe it's the third person omniscient? Or Second person?

 

The Jedi Knight games used to switch between first and 3rd person depending on what weapon you were using.

 

Do they have a developer's blog or something? I hope this game is not under the fanatical secrecy of the movies.

 

Bounty Hunter also had first person if you used Jango's ID scanner to spot/mark bounties or zoom in on bad guys. Sniper rifle scope and turret lasers gave a similar view.

 

I personally played Battlefront in first-person for both games.

I'd rather have it in 3POV. That's the view I played in as a kid.
It oozes nastalgia in my opinion.

This is going to be a primarily first person game? EA has already ruined Battlefront.

 

First-person all the way. I'm beyond psyched for this game.

Sorry to bump this but has there been any news on if this game will be like the traditional Battlefronts - 3rd person, command posts, etc?

 

i haven't heard anything about it, but from what they are saying (running on battlefield 4 engine etc) it will probably be a 1st person game, which means it won't be battlefront. also they said they aren't calling it battlefront 3, it's just going to be star wars battlefront, which to me means they are rebooting it to be a battlefield clone. if this turns out to be true i will not buy it.

 

I'm buying the **** out of it even if it's just an HD remake of E.T. Atari in disguise.

 

And what if the game is completely terrible and is unplayable?

 

It's not being made by Lucasarts, therefore it stands a chance of being playable! ;-)

It's a Battlefront game, it will be completely terrible.

 

DICE have said it will have third-person elements, so y'all stop your doom-mongering when we haven't seen an iota of gameplay footage.

 

I had an absolute blast with Battlefront II when it came out. I got it on my Bday (November 5) and played the **** out of it that whole entire month. Ahhhh 2005.

 

I played galactic conquest I don't know how many times in 2005-2006. Very curious to see if they're going to include that mode and if they'll incorporate it into multiplayer. It'd be interesting to have something a little more persistent than just playing maps with no context.

Plus we're likely going to have space battles with next-gen graphics!

 

Galactic Conquest was fun, but Instant Action was my go-to mode when i played I or II

 

I can't help but wonder whether or not Battlefront 3 will include stuff from the PT or even ROTJ or if EA will exclude those 4 movies to make the bashers happy.

 

So... the PT and it's associated merchandise made a lot of money.
