Geography fail. UConn looks like it's in Massachusetts. And Cincinnati is nowhere near the Ohio River's path.

 

Wathing SC this morning leaving for work. Another segment on LeBron. This time it was over his endorsement deals, or lack thereof. He sells the most since MJ and ESPN's reporting is saying how advertisers need to show him more and in more ads.

Are you begging for more ad dollars now ESPN?

 

Between this and Vince McMahon's Warrior tweet, I conclude that yes, Hell has indeed frozen over.

 

This could be kinda fun to watch. Or maybe devolve into a semi-fun hate-watch. I'll be interesting to see how things go when the first political subject comes up.

 

Despite his faults, I was a huge fan of his MSNBC/Current TV program, so I'm eagerly anticipating this ESPN2 show. I hope it lasts awhile.

 

Given his history, if it lasts a year I'll be surprised.

Still it's really not the stupidest thing ESPN has ever done. Rush Limbaugh anyone?

Not a specific indictment of ESPN, but as this "story" was covered today on ATH & PTI, I felt this belonged here. Easily (so far) the absolute dumbest "story" in North American sports; Holy **** it's so bad & embarrassing.

If the NFL did pressure ESPN out of that, we won't know for a long time I'd imagine.

 

I enjoyed the SI Media Column about the whole situation.

It makes me sad that Outside the Lines is getting buried, too.

 

So now Olbermann has been on for a few weeks. Wondering what your opinions on the show are?

I personally have enjoyed it. I haven't really liked watching Sports Center for the past 2 or 3 years. The same shtick has gotten stale. But I really feel like Olbermann has been a breather of fresh air The Network needs. He's entertaining and it doesn't feel forced like Sport Center does. God if I never have to hear Stuart Scott speak I will die a happy man.

 

I love it! I acknowledge that Olbermann's got his faults, and I don't always agree with him (as should be the case with anyone in the media you watch, enjoy & follow), but he puts on a very knowledgeable, thoughtful & entertaining program. I was a huge, huge fan of his work on MSNBC/Current, and a part of me wishes that he would go back to a political show one day.

 

Careful what you wish, for as Stuart Scott's been battling cancer for a few years now, and announced back in Janurary that it had yet again, returned.

 

Soon he'll be cold like the other side of the pillow. RIP my one eye'd friend.

 

I of course don't want to see the guy die. I'm just tired of his role on Sports Center.
