Title: [Star Trek TNG] Regenerations (Revised due to ST:2009)

    Author: RX_Sith

Fandom: Star Trek The Next Generation after being affected by the timeline variance from ST: 2009.

Characters: All of the crew of the Enterprise-D and more

    Genre: Action, humor, and bromance

Summary: The Enterprise-D crew is new re-imagined due to the timeline variance from ST:2009 and this will of course alter the way that they discover strange new worlds and boldly going where no one has gone before.

Disclaimer: Nothing belongs to me, but I can still at least kick the doors.

A/N: This will be based the events that occur during Star Trek The Next Generation, but will have vast differences due to the timeline alteration that has affected Starfleet, the Klingons, the Romulans, etc. It will obviously have a good deal of mush, logic, emotions, stories and ideas from both TNG and the movies with now the crew as altered by the timeline and featuring the story lines of the TNG movies plus more.

    Regenerations: Birth of the Enterprise-D

The Enterprise-D was unlike any other Federation that had been built. It was the first set of Starship's that were designed not only to have families aboard, but to have the saucer section separate as well in the case of extreme circumstances. As Tasha Yar guided the shuttlecraft with Captain Jean-Luc Picard aboard towards the ship that had a saucer section that was also huge in comparison to the engineering section and the twin nacelles of the vessel.

"We have arrived, Captain," Tasha spoke eloquently as the docking sequence concluded with a soft thud, "She's all yours now."

Thank you, Lieutenant," Picard spoke in his English accent, "Make sure that the replicators are programmed specifically for my families' recipe of Earl Grey."

"Will do, Captain," Tasha responded with a smirk on her face, "I'm surprised that you don't actually make it from scratch."

"Oh, but I do," Jean-Luc replied, "Especially on occasions like this. Meet me in the mess hall in 30 minutes."

"Yes, sir!" Tasha exclaimed never having experienced actual Earl Grey from any thing besides a replicator, "It will be my honor, Sir."

As Tasha and Jean-Luc separated, he accidentally bumped into Dr. Beverly Picard, his wife, "Pardon me, Mrs. Picard."

"Likewise, Jean-Luc," the effervescent Doctor responded in kind, "That was some ceremony, eh?"

"I'll say," Jean-Luc agreed, "I never realized you had so many friends and relatives before."

"The more the merrier," Beverly stated as she kissed him deeply and he held her in his arms as members of the crew merely walked by, "A family vessel this will truly be."

"Well, in that case, let's not have the ceremonies last too long then so that we have time for ourselves as well," Jean-Luc replied smoothly as he gave her one more farewell-for-now kiss, "Meet you in our quarters in two hours."

"Oh, I'll be there," Beverly responded with glee, "Just make sure that your duties don't keep your away from me longer than that."

"I promise," Jean-Luc blew her a kiss as he went to his quarters to prepare the meal that he and Beverly would eat in two hours time, "Now, Computer, let this simmer for two hours. Don't do anything to it at all, understand?"

"Understood, Captain," the ship's computer responded in its familiar female voice, "It will not be interrupted at all."

Captain Picard then went to make his special family recipe of Earl Grey. It would take just ten minutes to make and then a lifetime to savor. It was perfection to the utmost degree for Jean-Luc; well next to his wife, Beverly anyway.

Huge fan of TNG, and already a fan of this. I agree with earlybird-Obi-wan that it is nice to see Picard and Beverly together.

I always thought that since the Enterprise-D was a family vessel and given the history between Jean-Luc and Beverly that they should have been married since the beginning instead of at the end of the series. :D

    Nightvision91

Yes, the reasons for them not being together because of the situation with her previous husband Jack to me always seemed rather far-fetched in the first place. :)

I stated that I would start TNG and the changes that would occur due to the timeline changes from ST:2009, so here's to the start and more interesting developments as they occur for the crew of the Enterprise-D, where Earl Grey, hot is not only a classic line, but a classic tea as well. [face_coffee]

    ***

"Here you go," Jean-Luc placed her cup of tea and then sat across from Tasha Yar in the ship's mess facility, "Earl Grey, hot."

"Mmmmm," Tasha noticed the particular citrus flavor of the tea, "It's sweet and sheer perfection, Captain."

"Yes," Picard mused as he drank his cup of Earl Grey, "Of course knowing the history of how it came about is part of the mystery."

"Mystery?" Tasha inquired wanting to know more.

"Yes," Picard started, "The tea was named after Charles Grey, the second Earl in line to the throne of England back in the early 19th Century of Earth History."

"Wow, that's pretty cool to have a tea named after your title no less," Tasha responded, "Perhaps you should call this 'Picard Grey' instead since you stated that it was a family recipe."

"Oh, my brother Robert has already done that with his vineyard," Jean-Luc noted, "But I do not fancy such things. I merely make my family's recipe when the need arises and I have a feeling that will be often."

They both chuckle at his joke and then PIcard excuses himself to attend to the ceremonies of the ship leaving Earth orbit towards its first destination of Farpoint Station where they will meet up with the rest of the crew.

After the usual ceremonies have finished, Picard notes on the ship's chronometer that the two hour rendezvous with Beverly has passed. He makes his way towards their quarters hoping that the dinner he prepared has not gone bad. There he sees Beverly happily devouring the prepared meal.

"I'm glad to see that I wasn't entirely missed," he notes to his wife as he places a white rose on the table and gives it to her, "I'm sorry for being late."

"It's alright, Jean-Luc," she responds, "I knew that you would be. It comes with the territory."

"Yes, unfortunately it does," he replies sincerely sorry for the delay, "At least you ate the dinner that I prepared for us ahead of time."

"Well, I wasn't going to let great food go to waste," she remarked with a smile, "That would have been even worse."

He got up from his seat and gave her a kiss and then took her hand.

"Can I have this dance?" he inquired.

"But, of course, Captain," she teased him with his title instead of his name, "It would be my honor."

They danced slowly as the soft music guided their steps around their quarters. After the song finished they went towards their bedroom where more romantic moments began as they kissed each other tenderly and settled in for the night.

Beverly is very understanding and I too wouldn't let the great food go to waste ;) Nice slow dance and the aftermath. :D The history behind the tea is indeed an interesting one. Looking forward to Troi and Riker, Data, and Geordi; Worf is cool too. Very intrigued I was btw in the first go-round with TNG the short try at dating he had with Deanna. [face_thinking] Lots of stuff in those episodes with time traveling as well. Always liked that. =D=

William Riker and his wife Counselor Deanna Troi-Riker were perusing the various shops set up on Farpoint Station as they awaited the arrival of the Enterprise. They had their young daughter, Miana Troi-Riker with them and bought her some pink ribbons for the twin ponytails that she had. Natasha was also very much telepathic like her mother and she instantly realized the strange behaviors of the merchants who would summon what someone wanted instantly.

"Isn't that strange, mother?" she asked Deanna, "They can make whatever someone desires."

At first Deanna hadn't noticed, but upon careful viewing of the various merchants she also saw what her daughter had; that whatever someone wanted they got instantly. It was rather strange that this occurred.

"Will, I think something is going on here," she told him sincerely, "Look at how these merchants are able to give what someone wants so easily."

Will looked and he also saw what his wife and daughter were seeing, "We'll have to mention this to the Captain once he arrives," he stated not wanting to arouse any suspicious behavior from the merchants, "Come on, let's go to our quarters and check on when the Enterprise will arrive."

They left the area and made their way to their quarters where Will started to make some food for Deanna and Miana. He was a great cook and enjoyed making things from scratch rather than having them replicated when he had the time available to do so. After dinner, he told Miana a bed time story and tucked her into her bed and then once she had fallen asleep, he snuggled with his wife.

They had been married for over five years now and their daughter was four years old. She looked very much like Deanna with the exception of the twin ponytails that she liked to wear. They had waited purposely for the Enterprise since it would allow families aboard the Starship unlike others where they would have to be separated. It was the perfect opportunity for them both career wise and personally as well.

Data and Geordi LaForge were studying some strange phenomenon on the planet surface that they could not get any permanent readings from. One moment it was there and the next it wasn't.

"This is rather odd," Data mused, "It appears and then suddenly disappears. We will need better equipment to find out what is occurring."

"Yes, I agree," Geordi responded, "Once the Enterprise arrives, we should be able to figure out exactly what is going on."

They recorded what they could from their readings and then went to different vantage points to see if their was any difference in what they had recorded. Once they saw that the readings stayed the same no matter where they went, they knew that they would indeed have to wait for the Enterprise to show up to get a reading that could provide them with the answers that they were looking for.

Intriguing things picked up by LaForge and Data [face_thinking] and absolutely coolness to see Will and Deanna with younglings [face_dancing] [face_dancing] Ok, RX, you're giving me TNG ff-induced amnesia, like Hazel and Co. did for L/M. Thanks for that. [:D] I love ff being canon, not being able to remember anything else. LOL [face_love] !!!

Well, of course it is if you recall the first episode of TNG. ;)

    earlybird-obi-wan

That was one part of TNG that I always liked in how the ship was built with the intention of having families aboard it as well. :D

The Enterprise was nearing Farpoint Station being just a day away now at Warp. It had been a long journey towards their first destination; a destination that sounded more intriguing for Captain Picard as Commander Riker had notified him of the strange happenings that both he and Data and Geordi had so far encountered there. It was not going to be a normal first mission considering that the crew was split up on two different worlds at the beginning; Earth and Farpoint Station.

As Picard strolled around the Enterprise taking in the freshness and newness of the ship, he was internally beaming inside of the pride that he felt as Captain of Starfleet's signature vessel. The Enterprise had a long-standing tradition now permanently imbued into the annals of Starfleet history. It had met its demise though in the previous incarnation when the Enterprise-C was lost defending Narenda III, which was a Klingon Outpost from the Romulans.

Though that mission helped in the current Federation/Klingon Alliance, it was still very uneasy for many to forgive the Klingons for their previous wars and attacks that had occurred before the current Alliance started. The Romulans were still an enemy to the Federation along with the Ferengi and the Cardassians. Other terrors from the Gorn to other violent races also showed their might occasionally by usually attacking Federation Outposts that were on the fringes of Federation space.

As a result of the Alliance with the Klingons though, the Enterprise was the first Federation ship to be assigned a Klingon as part of their crew. Lieutenant Worf as he had been commissioned by the Federation was now boarding from the Klingon Warship that had materialized from its cloak at the rendezvous point with the Enterprise. The shuttle that he was aboard landed in the Shuttlebay and then Worf got out and looked at his new surroundings.

The freshness of the ship's atmospheric systems almost was too much for Worf to digest as he choked briefly from the enriched atmosphere. He stood at attention as Captain Picard approached and welcomed him aboard the Enterprise.

"Lieutenant Worf," Captain PIcard welcomed him openly, "Welcome to the Enterprise. This is a momentous first in Federation history as you now become the first Klingon to become an officer on a Federation Starship."

"Federation history!" Worf scoffed at the Captain, "That is all you humans care about is your pitiful Federation history! We Klingons have only accepted this as an honorable thing to do considering your previous ship's sacrifice near Narenda III. If you think for one moment that this changes anything about your Federation history, then you are sadly mistaken!"

"Lieutenant Worf, I do not mean to mince words with you or the Klingons," Picard stated forcefully himself, "But you are now a part of our crew and as a part of our crew, you will abide to Federation laws, is that understood?"

"Yes, Captain," Worf bit his tongue not wanting to incur any further disagreements with this puny Captain that he could rip his head off if he wanted to, "I understand."

"Good," Picard turned and assigned Natasha Yar as his guide to the Enterprise, "Lieutenant Yar is in charge of Tactical, and you are under her. You are to learn her position and her tasks to the utmost of your abilities."

Now Worf was even more displeased to be assigned to a human female as his guide. He sneered briefly and then dutifully complied with Picard's assignment for the moment, "Understood, Captain," was all that he said as he was now escorted by Lieutenant Yar around the ship. He rose above her small frame and considered this assignment as a degrade to what he had been doing previously with his race.

"These are your quarters," Yar showed him, "I will let you get accustomed to your new surroundings. We will have our first meeting in four hours. I expect you to be on time and ready to commence your duties at the time."

"I will be there," Worf glared at her at she left his quarters. He looked around as he had his belongings now beamed into his quarters. He made sure to first put up his Bat'leth on the far wall in its standard position. He could not understand how these humans could live so comfortably. He would ensure that he would make a training program as one of his first things to get accomplished on the ship's holodeck.

That would at least give him some reprieve from the repulsiveness of such a clean and tidy ship. He needed to maintain his Warrior's instincts to the utmost of his abilities. To do otherwise would be dishonorable and delusional. He grinned proudly as it was relatively easy for him to program his training program into the holodeck and commenced to battle multiple alien opponents. This was the Klingon way and he meant to maintain it despite his new position on the ship.
