The return of Palpatine would really piss me (and several) fans off, and in all honesty, Palpatine is a much better villain than the Joker.

    STAR WARS #1!!!!!

The question is: if he is alive, then how? Enthrall me with your acumen.

Alive insofar as he's now an evil spirit. A phantom spectre.

There is no death, there is the force

The one line of the Jedi Code that Sidious agreed with, at least according to the off hand notes in The Jedi Code book

Only in SW fandom is Palpatine more popular. The Joker has proven himself to be popular enough to be a recurring villain in pretty much all things batman, countless comic series and many movie iterations.

It's not complete dead either. Ghosts and spirits are considered an in between space, a rupture in binary logic (alive/dead vs both).

I would rather have Plagueis than Sidious — if they decided to bring back someone that was supposedly dead, that is. At least with Plagueis, it'll be a character we haven't seen before.

If it is Sidious, then they should borrow the Dark Empire cheating death concept. I would prefer that than some dark side ghost.

It's better than a freakin Freddy Krueger ghost haunting the good guys and threatening to get even, though.

Yes, he had better be dead. He fell into a reactor core and that is rather hard to fake. Anyway, the horrible clone Palps in the EU IMHO ruins any small chance at resurrection. If Disney did bring him back they'd pretty much be copying the EU and it'd bring quite the backlash. Really though, they need to make a more original villain for the ST.

i think they will borrow ideas like charachters from the eu and if they do i think they really need to bring in at least one fan favorite . personally id say a exar kun or maybe even a darth scion. ( because star wars is also about the saber fights)

i know that may screw up the time line in the book lore but in the movie lore i dont think they even exist so you have 2 variations.

dc and marvel do it all the time some have been great some have sucked big time.

If Palpatine appears in the ST, should his face be pre-Windu duel or post-Windu duel?

Post. I'm one of the few, maybe the only, people who liked the way he looked in ROTS post Mace. Sort of an evil cheese look.

I consider his post-Windu ROTS look and his ROTJ look to be one and the same. Making of ROTJ photos seem to support my idea.

FYI- the Plagueis book gives an explanation for Palpatine's physical transformation. It is part of a Sith's development. Plaguies told Sidious that he would be altered if the Dark Side chooses him.

I thought the Plagueis book was saying that Palpatine deliberately absorbed the lightning that Windu sent back at him, making himself stronger and transforming his body.
