Yes! I thought there were just 12 mini-babies. But I recently counted 16. So... There's 16 mini-babies, 7 babies, four adult females and three adult males. That's a lot. And one of the mommies is going to have hers any second and she never has a small batch of fry. Soooo, either I sell them or buy a giant tank and home them all that way (which is not going to happen).

Yeah just a wee bit. I'm so happy that they are easy maintenance. Not like a bunch of kittens or puppies.

 

Why don't you just sell all the males (or females) when you sell the babies? That way you don't have to deal with such issues anymore.

 

Because it's fun. But I will be selling all but one female asap.

 

Selling baby fish makes money

My LFS gives you 3.50 a baby Angelfish and about a dollar per tetra. That's really how they get their stock, local breeders.

No, they aren't. You need a special set up to breed them too. They are difficult to breed.

I just had an angelfish I bought from another pet store but she was tormenting my other fish so I brought her in. They gave me 4.50 and said baby/juveniles were 3.50.

 

Ah, yeah I hate it when one fish picks on other fish. I had that problem and the fish doing it actually taught another fish to do the same. I was NOT happy. >.>

 

One of my cats used to pick on one of the others. I have since...trained her not to.

Of course training fish probably wouldn't work. Do you have a frying pan?

I really think I could have had I been able to put the one that was teaching bad behavior in the other tank but even back then there were babies and I'm not sure how that one would react with little ones around.

I have three cats and the third (the one that followed my sister of course) is male and she refuses to have it fixed. Well, she hasn't said she wasn't going to but she always makes excuses so blargh.

Problem of course is that, that cat is a tad on the aggressive side and, thus, him and one of the other cats we have tend to hiss and turn whatever room they're in into a dueling arena.

Some fish need attitude adjustments. But in my experience they never get one
