lol Okay, that makes more sense. :p

Yeah, that's probably helpful. :p She should be getting everything back in order soon, though. At least as far as the medbay scene goes. :p I'd apologize to everyone for the drama, but that's what an RPG is built off of, after all. :p

I had always hoped that I would never have a task having to do with Luke's trial in the cave. I know I'm making a mountain out of a hill, but this is the hardest task I have ever had in all my Jedi training experiences.

I feel like I am standing on the top of a diving board, and I'm looking down at the water, but I'm afraid to jump off.

    :)

The thing is, you just need to go for it. There probably isn't a 'right or wrong' answer here, it's all up to interpretation. Put what you think of Luke's trial, what you believe it meant. So on and so forth.

And that is the daily advice from the peanut gallery Knight who's only Padawan is still in the Trials :p

Task 2: Luke Skywalker’s dagobah Dark Side Cave Trial

Let’s look at what happened before Luke entered the cave.

Yoda brought Luke to the entrance of the cave.
Luke trembled at the sight of it, and that is a sign that he was afraid. He stated that he felt cold and death from the cave, and to me, this means that Luke wondered if he would survive this test. Yoda told Luke that the cave was strong with the dark side of the Force, and that it was a place of evil, but he said Luke must enter the cave. When Luke asked what was inside the cave, Yoda responded, “Only what you take with you.”
He also told Luke, as he began strapping on his weapon belt, that he would not need his weapons. This indicated that this trial was a very personal test.
However, Luke shook his head no, meaning that he would not leave all of his weapons behind. Yoda shrugged at this, so the Jedi Grand Master was clearly displeased with Luke’s decision.

Now, let’s look at what took place inside the cave.

    Luke entered the cave.
It was slimy, quiet and dark. The only light came from his saber. Then, Darth Vader appeared with his lightsaber ignited.

Vader charged Luke, attacking him, but Luked sidestepped and slashed at the Dark Lord with his saber, decapitating him.
Vader’s body disappeared as his head flew from his shoulders. It hit the floor of the cave and vertically cracked open, revealing Luke’s face.
Luke was terrified at this vision.
This meant that Darth Vader was Luke’s father. However, Luke did not understand anything about the trial he faced.

    Post Trial.

Why didn’t Luke understand the vision? He was being controlled by his emotions; the worst one a Jedi can allow to command their actions, and that is fear. Yoda told Luke that the cave held only what Luke took with him into it, and he carried fear with him into that place of darkness. Fear is the reason Luke could not focus to recognize that Vader was an illusion, and why he did not understand the vision.
Did Luke fail? Yes. Why? Luke allowed his emotions to control him, making him nervous, uncertain, and fearful.
As a result, he was not calm, his mind was not clear, and he couldn’t feel the Force. This was why Luke missed the message that he should have received in the cave, and why he had to learn the truth from Vader.

This is why time spent in meditation is so important. When we are calm, passive and at peace, we can feel the Force guiding us, and we can receive great knowledge to assist us on the Jedi path.
