Ha, I guess I am late to the party. I just now realized that Michael B. Jordan is Wallace from The Wire. I loved that show. The kid is a good actor.

I don't know, I think it helps each other, Chloe and Cumberpatch could use more fans from this BIG announcement, and vice versa. Think more people would decide to see Carrie or Fifth Estate knowing they are cast in SW!

But it could also be ANYTIME in Oct before the 18th, too. So people would know these actors are in SW by the time the movie releases.

What ever happened to the Saoirse Ronan rumor. I thought she'd be a good fit,. She surely knows how to handle herself.

I don't think he said it was confirmed. He's asking what ever happen to the rumor of her reading for the part. Which was posted by LR a week ago I believe. The answer would be we don't know if that report was accurate or not.

 

Though I understand JJ love of secrecy and I think we won't get any big news this year out of him, it would be cool if he would at least show something. I would be glad about some production art, for example, a pencil drawn starship (similar to those TIE's Filioni used to hint at Rebels before the official announcement).

 

Hold up a sec DC. I know you're just being funny but it should be calrified here that there was a certain member of this forum who fueled the fire by claiming:

1- Chloe had a lunch with JJ = UNCONFIRMED
2- Chloe had been seen recently with a Disney script = UNCONFIRMED
3- Chloe was training with a swordsman = UNCONFIRMED

Then we read into her tweets about the Marathon when she said they were "productive." So, yes, prima facia evidence suggested that there was more to the rumors, but nothing was confirmed.

As for the toys -- I'm sure they're already in production based on concept art and script. Once the actors -- other than the BIG 3 -- have been cast they can go into Hasbro and do the facial scans for the head sculpts. But the toys are already in the works I'm betting.

Indeed. He's a good actor and has put in some great performances in some good films, but he just isn't SW. (to me)

Since when was it impossible for an actor to have been approached in respect of more than one role? The rumor about Michael B Jordan was only that he had apparently gone in to talk to JJA personally. And apart from the issue that that might not be true, how is that supposed to have been taken to now somehow preclude his ever talking to any other director about other roles? Too silly!

There isn't isn't even anything definite about the "independence Day" rumor. MBJ is no more known officially attached in that direction than he is re SW7.

I haven't seen "Fruitvale Station", but wasn't terribly impressed with MBJ in "Chronicle" or even "The Wire". Sp can't say I'm fussed if he misses out re both rumors. He is no Will Smith in terms of obvious appeal, and If there was a straight choice between David Oyelowo and him re SW7, I would prefer David Oyelowo myself.
