That's part of the problem. I am involved, but not really by choice.

she said she could visualize this one sparkly shawl on a gay guy from the military because it's military colors singing a melody song.

Her dads from the military so she was really going at it to the point where we were laughing and didn't know why

I could. Issue is, I don't want to. At all. We aren't talking about 4 or 5 students - this is literally the top 30% of our school. I actually like these people.

 

Joe as long as you didn't participate you can't get into trouble.

30% sounds like the strikes they would have at school when they threatened to take away after school activities... except it was more then 30% of the students, more like 95%

 

Well if you like them and turn them in, they won't like you. If you turn them away they won't like you...same outcome it seems.

 

One advantage I have to being a loner is, if a lot of people do illegal things here I have no kriffing idea. Nor do I really want to know mind you.

 

thats a tough call to make. If you don't turn them in but don't turn them away, you will make it out of highschool then you never have to talk with them again...

The dark truth is if they continue to do it, you can't trust them any longer. No matter how nice or fun to be around they are. They broke the law. And above that, drugs are dangerous and the industry behind them is disturbing.
Before you think about continuing to be friends with them, make sure they've stopped. Honestly it isn't worth it IMO to be associating with people who are committing illegal acts. There's 7 billion other people out there... 70% of your school has decided to stay out of it. They're still there.

Don't mean to sound harsh. But that's how I see it.

I agree you can possibly just brush it off for the year, but leave them alone if by June they haven't shaped up.
I wouldn't go to any parties or anything though...

 

So, I'm back where I started. I'm not turning them in, and not separating from them. Y'all say its as long as I don't participate, but where exactly does 'participate' apply? Because , depending on how broadly you paint 'participate', it could apply to me. (And no, I'm not doing drugs or alcohol).

 

I never went to parties and what not. I'm making decent money and everyone who did drugs in highschool work at places like burger king and subway.

when we say don't participate meaning anything that is not school or school activity related then you don't take any part in it.

I went to youth group and we had Friday nights at the gym, bowling, camping, it was a lot of fun
