VIDEO Tom Clancy Game Timeline Project

Okay. I am bored. So I am deciding to start a mini-project about the Tom Clancy games and making a timeline for them.

Games Known to be Connected:
Ghost Recon series
HAWX 1&2
Endwar

Games possibly in the Universe
Splinter Cell series
Rainbow Six Series

I thought it would be a nice little project to do but what you see above is all that my research has revealed. So yeah, it would b nice if someone who has played more of these games than I have could help.

 

I've heard there's supposed to be a Ghost Recon/Splinter Cell crossover in the works, so that answers that.

Rainbow Six comes from the Jack Ryan universe but I don't think there are any ties to the other franchises.

You can use Splinter Cell agents in EndWar and Anna Grimmsdottir makes an appearance.

 

I am wonder if R6 really fits the franchise. Like what Darth_Invidious said.

 

Here's the thing: the whole "Tom Clancy's" bit - that's not a franchise. That's just branding. The franchises would be Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, etc etc etc. Some of them might share narrative bits from time to time, but really, it's just Tom Clancy's name on there. He didn't have much input once UbiSoft bought up Red Storm Entertainment, and I think the only thing he contributed to Splinter Cell (the original) was a seal of approval on everything but the goggles. His name is licensed out as a brand or marketing tool.

 

The only part of any of the games he contributed to was the original Rainbow Six. It used a bunch of characters from the novel. I think Ding Chavez was still in the games as late as Rainbow Six Vegas, but I dont recall any other novel material making it across.

*It is noted that the Rainbow Six novel(s) take place in the Jack Ryan universe. But unless major contradictions occur the game series does take place in this universe and not the JR universe (unless if also included there).

 

Huh, so are they still going to make Tom Clancy films and games without Tom Clancy around?

 

Well, yeah, he hasn't had input on them since around 2003, and even then it was pretty minimal. As I said earlier, he licensed his name to UbiSoft a while back.

Seems like the Tom Clancy Wiki say the games take place in the Main TC universe.

Why. Even though I have not been posting in the thread I have been very busy in my free-time working on my Battlefield and TC game timelines.

 

You just linked to a detailed timeline - that doesn't sort of make yours redundant?

He was in Vegas 2. He briefed you at the start of the tutorial mission (the mountain hostage rescue thing), though he was only referred to as "Six".
