ST CASTING RUMORS

One of the most persistent one was about Gregory Hines.....man did we talked about him back then.

He was supposed to play a character that would have been seen in all three prequels.

At first, he was playing a robot, then a relative of Lando and involved with the downfall of the Republic.

Rumours were easier back then, since we knew the main plot.

 

Pettyfur is out. He's been cast in a movie already.

 

Hahahaha, imagine after all the speculation about Plagueis and Sith armies and Palpy 's ghost, the baddie will simply be RoboMaul

Well, it was George Lucas idea, to bring him back in TCW, while he was writing the treatments, and he regards TCW, as equal to episodes 1 to 6

 

I could actually see people that are for the idea. I mean, he is basically the Boba Fett of the prequels.

 

Very cool character but if he was properly going to be brought back in for the movies he should have been back in AOTC.

EDIT - Oh, and because I know how much everyone loves El Mayimbe, he's hinting that LR will be dropping a new rumour today.

Pretty much immediately after Pettyfer and Rachel Hurd Wood were referred to the Obi Wan site for opinion (there is no way that didn't mean they were being seriously considered), a new casting call potentially significantly omitted a role that she could have been up for, but still included both young male leads. That doesn't mean that she was necessarily cast (or that she is still in the picture), but it didn't rule her out, whereas it leaned to the the presumption that he was probably cut loose. So the new casting announcement for him isn't incongruent. And I don't think there was ever any real evidence that Chloe Moretz was so likely anyway. But I am not so sure Saoirse Ronan is necessarily out of the picture yet. That she blabbed about having auditioned was a bit of a pointer to not having been cast, but it could just have been foolishness, And as far as I have seen, she has only apparently read for something else, she hasn't been cast.

Cuase its way more unlikely that he was using the long walk to get back into shape for VII. Clearly his wife doesn't support him looking good again... I mean what wife would want a good looking husband.

Give the guy some credit. If it wasn't for El Mayimbe and LR we would have absolutely zero to talk about. Okay his 'scoop' is likely to be miles off the mark, but at least we can discuss it, then subsequently discount it lol.

 

Unless I missed something (and certainly, I may have), none of the sources for the Lee Daniels project I read said a word about when this film may ever go into production. This is important because there is, of course, no reason to think that, unless a film is shooting at or very near the SW movies, any actors attached to the ST would be unable to work on other projects, too.

I'm not saying Pettyfer is in, or anything, but until we learn when this other film is headed into production, it seems too early to completely rule Alex out.
