I like this thread because I feel like less of a nerd for not owning any comics. It boosts my self-esteem greatly for a temporary amount of time.:)

You don't have to own comics to be a nerd. It's not a prerequisite.

I'm pretty sure I still have the highest sitting score on that damn nerd test, so I guess it's only fitting that I browse both. [IMG]

Where are you located? I will go through and pull them out and then we can work something out. I will also probably check a price guide but I will let you know soon. Feel free to send me a message.

Comic stores charge a dollar to cover price, depending on the condition and availability of said product. They only charge less if it is in bad shape, or they have too much product.

Does anybody else still read Fables? I don't usually cry when I read comics but dammit if the final pages of #134 didn't leave me misty eyed when
Bigby meets his son Dare in the afterlife. It was also great to see Boy Blue again but still sad since he won't be coming back.

Finally read Marvel Comics: The Untold Story. Didn't find much new information in it (something that scares me :p ) but still a good read.

So since X-Factor Investigations is finally over with and there is a X-Factor series coming soon in January 2014. And so far its about a new corporate sponsored X-Factor team and will be written by Peter David and be a follow up to his X-Factor Vol. 3 but does anyone know who they have in mind to be on the team in the new comic?

I didn't read it, but I read an online excerpt that said those who worked on Marvel's "cosmic" titles in the '60-'70s were either acidheads, stoners, or both, and that revelation was like "Well, duh" to me.

Can you say meh just a bit? That meaning I liked X-Factor Investigations it was full of mutants within the X-Men universe I wasn't much familiar with which was what made it so interesting and stood on its own and not seem like another team full of X-Men or former X-Men.

It will be interesting to see the relationship between Polaris and Quicksilver explored. They are half-siblings, after all, and they barely have any common history.

I'm more intrigued by what's going to make his corporate superheroes angle different from that of, for example, Wildcats 3.0.

I guess I will do the only thing I can do right now not make any quick judgements till the #1 comes out because you can't really judge something that you haven't seen yet.

Sort of bummed that Daredevil is ending at issue 36, but it seems like they've got a few DD things to fill that space. Currently reading through Legends of the Dark Knight, which is a lot of fun. A huge wealth of talent in there tackling one-off or shorter arcs.

LotDK was my favorite long Bat-series. Haven't even peeked at the new series but it sounds like it is pretty much the same as the old. Is it continuity free?

So much of my problem with the DCU is the domination of continuity. The only writer who can deal with continuity in a way I enjoy is Morrison.

A lot of it is on the fringe of continuity, and it's generally pretty loose in how it treats continuity. You don't need to follow the then-current storylines, for the most part, although KnightsEnd's finale is in LotDK, and a few of the big arcs cross into LotDK.

I think Frank was talking about the new LOTDK book. The current format is that it takes place at which ever era the creative team wants to tackle. It isn't restricted to the first couple of years. You could find issues that fit within your existing collection. One story could feature Damian as Robin with Dick as Batman, while another could be set in the 90's era.
