We are talking about a man that let a lockout go on for half a season and lost an entire season to an earlier lockout.

 

Bettman has little to do with it. The owners are the ones that lockout the players and employees.

There has been 3 lockouts in the NHL and Bettman was a part of all 3, and he was a part of a lock out for the NBA, not a coincidence eh?

 

He's more like a joint PR spokesperson between the owners and players. He has no control over them. The players ask for safer rules, conditions, more money, etc. and the owners say you guys won't be allowed in the building to work until you give up or compromise. Sometimes it's just the owners disagreeing on stuff with eachother. The owners have all the power.

The Leafs have a long way to go to be competitive against the Hawks.

 

Well, if you want to go to the mattresses and lock players out, I'd say he's the right tool for the job.

 

I honestly think hockey has been better after the lockout. More even playing field for teams and players are making more money than ever before. Sure their tv deal is on the wrong network but I think the league is doing fine.

 

They need to change the playoff format like it was before, Wildcard sucks
