Pretty sad that Mike "Thor" Kostka and Mike Smith have more goals than Claude Giroux

Bozie gets too much hate

 

He's not a bad player but he's clearly not a #1 centre. But I can live with it if it keeps Kessel happy.

 

He is a #2 C IMO, but no problems with him being on the 1st line, he does everything well

Kessel was useless except on maybe 2 shifts. You need a coach in Toronto that can convince hockey players to play hockey. You've got a team full of guys who stand around all game long. Phaneuf has some good ability but doesn't stay focused. Bolland was the only guy who looked like he belonged on the same ice sheet as the Hawks.

They aren't the worst team in the league but they are not serious contenders. I pick on Toronto because of all the teams that don't get it The Leafs are the one with no excuse for it. You need new owners, gm, coach and players. There is a whole generation of young hockey fans that have never watched good hockey in Toronto. You young fans up there should give up on the Leafs this year and regularly watch Chicago, St. Louis, L.A. and Boston instead. See what it's supposed to look like. Raise your expectations and then make your voice heard by Leafs management.

Same with pittsburgh. No one gave a crap until Crosby and Malkin showed.

Leafs have a decent team this year and they haven't even played their best hockey by a long shot.

I don't want that job but it is obvious to me that you are lacking the players that are ready, willing and able. There's not enough time in a single season to make up the difference. You have a bunch of one-dimensional players. No defence. I think you need a different coaching staff. Even a bad Toronto team should have at least one great hockey player and the fact that they haven't for awhile tells me that changes in the offices are also needed.

It's the biggest shame in the hockey world that the Leafs have been irrelevant for so long. I really do want to see them in the Finals. C'mon Toronto!

 

Kessel, Lupul, JVR, Phaneuf, they are great players, and they are not one-dimensional players and if you think they are, then you haven't watched any Leafs games at all

Not one of those guys is great. You must be joking about JVR and Lupul. Kessel just scores goals which is only half a hockey player. Phaneuf has the ability but he's not ready or maybe it's not willing.

 

Sure they don't have superstars but I'd rather they have a decent whole team than count on just one or two guys every night. When the oilers recently made their cup run they didnt have any big superstars, just a well balanced team.
