Whatever the details end up being, Kershaw will remain a Dodger for many, many years, and hopefully can add to his legend by pitching in a World Series (or two, etc... :p ).

http://www.truebluela.com/2013/10/19/4855686/charley-steiner-dodgers-tv-broadcasts-2014]Reportedly Charley Steiner will be back on television for the Dodgers, for all the Scullyless games

It's not official yet, but if this ends up to be true, then HELL ******* YES!

    Wow. :p

Never in my life have I wanted/will be actively rooting for a Boston franchise to win a title, but that's exactly what I'll be doing for this 2013 World Series, for some rather obvious reasons... but, there are other reasons as well: They're a likable team in my humble opinion, I tend to watch a lot of NESN during the season on the strength of the Orsillo/Remy/Eckersely announcing crew, and of course all the beautiful beards so many of the players have. Also, because this is the sort of thing I like to do, it gives me another chance to people watch these following gentlemen during Fenway Park portion of the series:

Dennis Drinkwater, regular fixture right behind home plate at Fenway for 11 years now (I think). His reaction, as pictured there, to any Sox home run is absolutely priceless.

Jeremy Kapstein, an advisor for the team, often wears those headphones as he sits in his seat.

http://espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs/2013/story/_/id/9857689/detroit-tigers-manager-jim-leyland-return]Jim Leyland steps down as Tigers manager

This makes me a bit sad, because I don't think we'll be seeing Leyland manage again anywhere. Regardless, he still remains one of my all time favorite baseball people.

http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/mlb/story/_/id/9859713/don-mattingly-los-angeles-dodgers-uncertain-return-option]Mattingly frustrated, not sure if he'll return to manage the Bums

I haven't seen footage yet from today's press conference (with Ned Colletti), but from all the accounts I've read thus far, it was incredibly awkward. I don't blame Mattingly one bit for how he feels, so if he ends up leaving on his own, it won't be a surprise.

It takes a certain kind of manager to have success with all of those egos. Donnie learned from Torre, who did it better than anyone. That makes him uniquely valuable- he needs to make sure the deal gives him loads of security, but at the same time, he would be insane to leave that talent.

Check out this graph from Bloomberg, it's a pretty neat way to look at how your favorite team is ranked on a financial scale. I'm honestly kind of shocked to see the Rockies so low.

Sports Center did the top 10 WS walk offs today. Maz was at the top but that Carter homer is my number 2.

I remember Cleveland celebrating that home run since

    a) we still viewed Joe Carter as one of us
    b) we don't have a title of our own to celebrate

Joe Carter's '93 Series walk off home run was one of my all time favorite childhood moments (I had just turned 7), and it helped to solidify my love for baseball beyond my partisan Dodger loyalties.

I just hope the Wilpons are reading this and decide they'd be happier with the $2 billion than the team. It worked for the Dodgers!

    Amazing.

En route to a 2-run Boston 2nd inning, which all things considered...

may have been such a bigger inning, if not for Beltran robbing Big Papi of a grand slam (ended up with a sac fly). These first 2 innings have been ridiculously entertaining.

EDIT: And now Beltran is out of the game with a right rib contusion.
