OOC Out of Bounds (The ELL OOC Thread)

For those of you who like to keep up with my old characters, you'll probably want to read the latest post in the fan fic that Vehn and I collaborate on.

 

The What We Learned piece never ceases to entertain might have to arrange for some Urdaaza posters to arrive in their offices, though...

Damn straight The pop heard round the galaxy. Really though I like these write-ups.

 

Just come across the statement that it took DS1 two days to get from the rubble of Alderaan to Yavin. The Wook credits the DS1 with a class 4.0 hyperdrive and an MGLT value of 10.

The Falcon is credited with a class 0.5 hyperdrive and an MGLT value of 75.

A T-56 X-Wing is credited with a class 1.0 hyperdrive and an MGLT value of 100.

A Lambda Shuttle is also credited with a class 1.0 hyperdrive, but has an MGLT value of 50.

Seems to me that those figures could give us some rough transit times for team travel, particularly the MGLT values.

 

MGLT standing for?

 

Megalights (or MGLT) are actually a unit of distance, and are used in sublight speeds, not hyperdrive speeds. Since MGLT/hour values have been shown to be unreasonably slow, they are best interpreted merely as relative comparisons between ships. Further information: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/MGLT

For travel time between planets, the hyperdrive class is the main factor and is literally a multiplier, meaning that a class 3.0 hyperdrive would take three times longer to get from point A to point B than a class 1.0, and a class 0.5 would take only half the time of a class 1.0. However, other factors affect travel time, including whether you're on an established trade route (e.g. a trip down the Hydian Way would be much faster than a direct jump of the same distance across a less-traveled route). Canonical sources have generally been inconsistent on travel times, resulting in starships moving at what I call the "speed of plot", which is perfectly fine. In other words, don't overthink it if you don't want to..

No team has had a worse time of it in their history than the Monarchs. Hands down.

 

There are times I feel bad about how the Mercs seasons have gone. Then I look at the Monarchs and I don't feel so bad anymore.

Anyways, no idea when my Power Rankings and post will be up. Gotta figure out my schedule this week, so it could be a few days.

 

Possibly. I figure this is going to be a lost season anyway. Nothing to base that on, just a feeling.

Funny, I got that feeling about my own team.

So I lose on my sister's birthday, she intervened with the dice roller, didn't she?

 

I think that is why I feel this way actually. Since I traded that draft pick to you, surely it will be a top three pick.

Hey, just remember, if the entire conference sucks at the end of Week 4 then the non-conference season didn't matter!

 

So long as I win and they don't I am happy.
