Holy cow. Just caught the alternate Fifield Attacks scene.

That's it. Game over. The original creature looks like a candy-**** punk now. That thing rocks.

My suggestion posted to their fb:

I'd like to see the sequel air direct to SyFy channel starring Lorenzo Lamas. We really need to scale people's expectations down to a lower level. Maybe hire the Olsen twins to play a pair of Deacons.

    Prometheus 2 writer chosen.

Jack Paglen has been hired to pen the script for a sequel to Ridley Scott's "Prometheus".

Paglen was previously linked, but now comes word that Scott has agreed to his take on the direction for the sequel. As a result, negotiations are now underway.

Paglen would replace Damon Lindelof who penned the first film which scored $403 million worldwide at the box-office. It's expected this sequel will further distance itself from the "Alien"-related elements of the first film.

Paglen penned "Transcendence," the upcoming directorial debut of "The Dark Knight" cinematographer Wally Pfister, which stars the likes of Johnny Depp, Paul Bettany, Rebecca Hall and Morgan Freeman.

It just seems too forced at this point.

Really late response and not even to you but to someone who asked in the comments "you guys realize this is fiction...right?" and was answered with "fiction doesn't have to be stupid." but wouldn't the threat be more menacing if the characters did everything logically, and were shown to be competent and resourceful(I dunno, like in Alien, to pick randomly from a hat) in the face of danger? Wouldn't that make the danger more dangerous? I dunno.

How so? They've been talking about a sequel since even before the film was released- and the film itself obvious setup a sequel.

I'm hoping they take the criticisms of the first film to heart, or, at the very least, provide answers to the questions the first asked but never resolved.

At least then the problems with the first film are reduced to stupid character choices and potential Engineer/Alien discontinuity.

---The first is "Exodus," the Biblical epic starring Christian Bale as Moses and Joel Edgerton as Rameses. He calls the film's scale "****ing huge" and confirms they will part the Red Sea on screen.---

    Oh my. I like that.

I'm half and half on Prometheus. It had amazing visuals, pretty decent acting all around and a fair score. The story and parts of the script was pants on head retarded though. Coming out of it, I kind of loved it with some reservations as to WTF I had actually seen, but digging deeper into it has yielded some good, but mostly bad things.
