OOC Out of Bounds (The ELL OOC Thread)

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why I love the way we've structured ELL now. We've got games that really matter and ones that don't matter as much. Conference play just takes the game to that much needed competitive level.

 

I can't agree more Vehn, I think the balance of teams and the schedule is just about perfect. Now if I could only find a way to beat those pesky NPC teams....

Nah, you are due for a win. I am sure I will be 1-2 going into the game against the Miners.

Odd how we can be only two games into a new season and yet pessimism abounds.

 

I've got two NPC teams in a row up next so I'm kriffed!

 

The pessimism is there because we've now started to see trends develop among teams from season to season like a real game would reflect. Sure, the scores are random and don't reflect teams getting hot or cooling off but in some ways it seems even more fair to do it this way. And, sadly, its experience speaking as well.

The Smugglers are one of those teams where they cool off for a few years and then punch their way to a Cup. But, we'll see. The season is still very early.

 

Either that, or we're just setting our expectations low so that we are pleasantly surprised if we do well.

 

My to-do list before, oh, Wednesday or so:

• Announce All Star Game details for this season
• Announce Elite League response, if any, to Taab's actions
• Go over Bakuran reaction to the end of the Ssi-Ruuk war
• Hype Rebels at Miners, the battle of the undefeateds

It's going to be a busy week.

 

Maybe announce the site of the Final location as well?

 

And the All-Star Game location.

 

Leave it to Vehn to mention us breaking the game, within the game.

 

Dammit, I got an email telling me that Trieste had posted in the game thread and I got all excited for the "What We Learned" column.

 

Who needs ELL '75 when we can market Limmie action figures, with amazing lights and sounds? No batteries included.

 

And Kether punching action.

Actually, the Miner action figures are transformers. Come playoffs they turn into useless pieces of plastic.

Also, sorry to get your hopes up jcgoble3. As a note I try to wait until Friday to do WWL so I can integrate everyone's game recaps to that point. In fact, I've already thought of what I'll say about Ylesia...

I've managed to get my game recap up for this week. However, as it stands now, the Power Rankings likely won't be posted before Thursday, unless I have more time on Wednesday than I think.

 

Gark handled that situation PERFECTLY.

 

I think Ava wouldn't be in this mess if she'd read her Superbothan comics growing up to understand Gark's trauma in his life.

Speaking of which...I've been thinking about Falene maybe taking an interest in her own family history with an...interesting result as a little side moment. I think if I ever bring it to pass you'll all be amused.
