My mate and I are planning to go to Walt Disney World for the first time ever for our 20th anniversary in a little over a year from now (2015's going to be fun). Growing up in Los Angeles I hit Disneyland at least once a year, especially when they were doing the whole 'Southern Californians get in for $20' promotions every now and then. But since I moved away, I think the last time I went to Disneyland was 1994. I remember because The Lion King had just come out and I bought a t-shirt with Scar on it that said 'I'm surrounded by idiots'. I think one of the things I miss most were those absolutely to-die-for deep fried Monte Cristo sandwiches at The Blue Bayou restaurant just off the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.

My mate's never been to either so we figured it'd be perfect for our 20th. Definitely looking forward to it.

Great stuff! I hope that you two have fun! I've only been to Walt Disney World once, right at the turn of the millennium, and they were really celebrating Y2K throughout the parks. I still fondly recall hearing the Disney 2000 Celebration music at Epcot, and remember the lyrics of one song:

My son and I rode the new version of Star Tours at Hollywood Studios in Orlando multiple times when we were all down there last spring. Going to make doing so a recurring event, especially with additional SW stuff apparently being added there in the future to make that part of the park "Star Wars Land".

My brother is headed for Disney right now; since my nephews both love Star Wars, I need to text him to demand request Star Tours pictures.

My cousin, a friend and I just saw Joshua Radin and Matt Nathanson live at a local club. And they were awesome. As were the four dollar Blue Moons.

I'm honestly not familiar with his music but RIP.

Something I think a few people might be interested in, I think Circular Logic was the one who brought up cancer research before. I went to a Pancreatic Cancer Action Network event tonight in memory of my aunt, who died from it in July. There was a doctor there talking about the latest research, and he mentioned nanotechnologies--apparently it is possible to inject nanocells next to cancer cells, and they'll actually eat the cancer cells. But any FDA approved treatment has to be tested on three species first. They're testing this on mice now.

Hopefully by the time my kids are grown...

The kiddos and I are Ventress, the Enderman and the Creeper. Semi-neutral, neutral and a villain. But I'm mostly interested in how many people actually know who the hell we are when we go out tonight.

I spent part of today going over trick or treating safety: go with an adult, wear a bright costume, make sure your mask fits, don't trip over lit jack-o-lanterns, give all Hershey candy to your mother... (Oh, wait, that last one was for my kids...)

Well, I don't know how many kids are going to walk by our place. Our side of the road is rather inundated with University students, so parents might tell kids to stay away from us.

So I'm going back next week to get my class F drivers license, which in SC is required to tow a large non-commercial trailer and/or drive a large non-commercial vehicle. (In my case, both.) I just found out that one of the requirements is that I parallel park the 40ft vehicle with the 22ft trailer attached. I had a hard enough time parallel parking our SUV, this could be interesting...

Good luck KS. I avoid parallel parking whenever I can and I drive a Prius.

Happy Saturday Star Wars TV. It's the best weekend of the year in the US--it's an hour longer. . Plus I'm a vampire so I like it when the sun goes down earlier.
