But it was a way for him to get out of any future movies.

It certainly would have achieved that. Han Solo ain't no Force Ghost! :)

What arc do you think he'll have in the ST, and are you excited if they do anew Indy?

I'm not dragging him through the mud. What I'm saying is by taking some of the roles he's taken, he's wearing out his "brand" so to speak.

Maybe, and its not uncommon for an actor to go back to the well after a few flops. But Ford doesn't NEED Star Wars. He could push for Indy 5. There is talk of Blade Runner 2. He could wait and see how Expendables and/or Anchorman help him out. And he is 71 years old, probably less reason/need for him to "save his career" at this point.

IMHO no way in hell Disney gives him Indy 5 if Disney wants him for Star Wars and he doesn't agree to do it. They've got 4 billion dollars on their books and they've cast their lot with Star Wars as the more lucrative Lucasfilm property. Plus, Paramount distributes Indy so it's a more complicated deal for Disney.

No way does Disney go down the Indy path with him unless they get something in return.

I have no idea if Disney would get personal like that or if they business as just business. I dunno.

They have 4 billion on the books, and if Ford won't do Star Wars either way, might not be the best movie to write off the Indy franchise as well.......

    Here's a solution:

Any non-SW movie that Ford sings up for, get Sean Young to be the love interest. Problem solved!

Not arguing with anything you say there. I'm 40 so had seen Harrison three times as Han before he was Indiana Jones, (my first Indy film at the cinema was TOD and didn't see Raiders until it was released on video). So that memory of Harrison as Han is kind of my default 'cool hero' of early childhood.

People are making waaaay too much over these box office numbers. This is pretty typical of his career, with hills and valleys. Ender's Game will ultimately wind up making over $100 million domestically and who knows how much internationally, not a mega hit to be certain, but not a collasal flop either, and given the source material that's not bad. Add to that he co-starred in the hit film 42 earlier this year... and again, given the source material a $92 million gross is pretty darned good. Finally, he will be appearing in Anchorman 2 later this year, so he's going to have a pretty good year. Ford generally has a hit film every 5-6 years which allows him to take other work that interests him.

His days of being a leading man are over for the most part, and the roles he's taken over the past 8-10 years reflect that. He's actually done a pretty good job navigating his new career as co-star.

Affleck never needed any acting lesson. People just can't stand 20-30 year old handsome actors that girls sqee over.

Harrison Ford's net worth is over $210 million dollars. There's no "brand" to wear out. He's made his coin, so he really doesn't need Star Wars as much as Star Wars needs him right now.
