Amph "On your left." - Captain America (Brave New World)

It just seems like a Hollywood thing to do even though most people the movies are aimed at know what's up.

 

Yeah, they should be doing more Seattle things.

 

I wonder how many helicarriers will be blown up during the course of the film, and how many buildings they'll go through?

 

I would love to see a Damage Control reference at some point. They are the Marvel U's premiere construction company, specializing in cleanup after superhero/villain battles.

 

Maybe Superman will show up and try to save the crashing ships only to worsen the whole dilemma?

 

Yeah, trailer looks good. I hadn't been keeping up so I was surprised to see Redford. I am . . . happy about that to say the least. I hope it really does get into the morality issues the trailer hints at: taking these people out before they're a threat vs. the punishment used to come after the crime. That's the great opportunity that lies in having the WWII Cap in modern day America. If it was an awesome idea back in the seventies (?) when the comics did it, it's a frigging fantastic one now with the way America has changed since 9/11. Obviously, they didn't do anything with that in The First Avenger and they really only had time to get into it a bit in The Avengers. So here's hoping they really start focusing on that in a big way in The Winter Soldier.

But, yeah, I hardly read any Cap comics, but I think even non-Cap fans are basically aware of two villains, The Red Skull and The Winter Soldier. Or I should say that I was aware of them and of no other Cap villains. So, even though I've never read a comic with The Winter Soldier in it, when he . . . wait, we did say it wasn't a spoiler? I saw somebody say that it's revealed in the preview, but I didn't see that, just the trailer before my screening. Well, in case anyone's trying to avoid the spoiler, when you-know-who does you-know-what in The First Avenger, I was like, "Okay, so Winter Soldier in the sequel then."

 

Anyone who doesn't read comics is not going to know who the heck that guy is with the metal arms, so it'll be a surprise for them, but obv not for any of us.

 

I think the key thing here is, again, there's an actual story here beyond the reveal.

 

The only other two Cap villains I know are Baron Zemo, who lives with a purple bag over his head, and Arnim Zola, who's face is on his stomach. CA3 foes, maybe?

 

I didn't know of any Cap villains in all honesty.

 

Arnim Zola was in the first movie, will be in The Winter Soldier, and I suspect he'll be in the third movie.

 

In addition to Zola, Brock Rumlow AKA Crossbones and Batroc the Leaper are both confirmed for Winter Soldier.

 

Well ****, guess I'm going on opening day.

 

So do Cap and Winter Soldier end up hugging it out at the end of the day?

Avengers 3 is Thanos.

 

So is the Collector going to just be the main villain for GotG?

 

Probably. Keep in mind how big the cast is, and that there have been multiple villains announced.

 

Ronan is the main bad guy in GOTG, plus Karen GIllans' character...

 

I think the Collector will continue to be the middle man and have a larger part in the next Avengers movie. I'm pretty sure Ronan and Nebula will be your main set of villains for this film.

 

Right, right. So the Collector is like the Thanos for Ronan and Nebula, and his Thanos is actually Thanos.

 

Actually, potentially Thanos is Thanos in GOTG... >.>
