OOC Return of the Forgotten Ones OOC/Discussion Thread

I'm not sure continuing would work. Not everyone's coming back - though maybe should tag everyone to be sure they got the message?

 

Thats what I'm saying. The GM can find out who is coming back and who isn't. Then write a new post writing off those not returning, and updating those that are.

 

For some that might work, like you and I, but not everything that was going on can still be happening without certain characters. It'd depend on how much work Skyguy wants to put into this.

 

True. It depends on how much work Skyguy puts into it. He is capable of writing it all out and resolving it, but would be a lot of work.

I just really don't wanna reboot the whole story...lol

To continue with the current storyline and make it less work for Sky, a fast forward is best. Not only does it remove the complication of characters without players, it also gives everyone a chance to essentially "restart" without erasing what has been done, and allows Sky to introduce new characters and their players to the game. The most Sky would have to do is get in touch with the players and find out who is coming back or not and then write up a fast forward.

You, Chewie, might have to get in touch with him concerning your plans if he doesnt know them already.

I haven't had internet very much lately, so sorry for the delay. That being said:

I think that's everyone who was playing as of the last update. I'm going to put things to a vote here:

Who is still interested in playing?

Should I work with the current story and restart there (or fast-forward as the case may be)? Or do a hard-reboot to both allow everyone to 'rebuild' (more or less) their characters and allow new players to hop in from the 'beginning'?

 

I still am. And I'm up for either option. I guess it depends on how many people come back. I'd like the opportunity to start from the beginning again, just in case I don't have a solid feel for my character when the game starts, but I was also enjoying the character as she was when we stopped. So yeah, I'm not going to be much help.

Either one can be made to work, but we'll see how it goes. I know that if we don't have enough returning players I'll probably re-boot by default, to make it easier on new players in that case.

I'm definitely interested, and I do think the fast-forward option is the best idea. In the event of a reboot it would have to be radical enough to not play out like the original.

 

I'm going to have to dip out of this RPG, mostly cause of DRL but also I've lost the inspiration for the character I had when I started this RPG
